It wasn't this guy selling them was it?

No Guts No Glory.
My favourite bird and personal totem from my early days is the magnificent Laughing Kookaburra (rhymes with looker).

Way off topic, but I use a kookaburra call as my ringtone.
I can always hear it, even if I'm out and about; And no one else has anything like it, so I know that it is my phone. (But I do have to make sure I turn off the ringer in meetings.)

Added Note:
Meako's post is in another thread. My comment was so far off topic that I moved my post here.

The buzzworm that rattle came off of shed likely more than 13 times. Each button forms each time a shed is done. However, the tip buttons on that rattle are missing. You cannot however tell a rattlesnakes age by counting the buttons. They made only shed once every two years or as often as twice a year. It all depends on how well the snake is feeding and lengthening and gaining weight.

Random useless fact lol. I've been a Herpetologist since I was 9 and made it official in 2004 with my degree in Biology, Major in Herpetology.

Does this mean you're an expert on lawyers, politicians, and salesmen?

Frank -no worries mate -As you know I have no word in my vocabulary for "off topic' ..errr what ever that means.:D
I'll see if I can record a decent sound off from the Kookas this evening. I may be able to send you an mp3 -individually tailored Kookaburra calls.
Probably by email?
cheers.

That would be very Cool!

Correct. Plus that sucker didn't come off a baby. It came off a rattlesnake that molted at least 13 times.

This is a Great Basin Rattlesnake I killed a few years back. I normally don't kill them - just collect them and dump them off the house proper property but this one was in our back yard while the wife and grand kids were out there so I had to get rid of it fast. We usually see one or two of them a month during the summer but of course there are more around. Keeps you on your toes. I got this one with a shotgun.
