Thank you for putting this up.

Prayers said.

Sincerely,

As I rebuild my collection one knife I wanted was another custom skinning knife from Blade Forums own GL Drew. Now I usually would go for a drop point but when I saw the profile on this clip I had to have it. Gerry is another amazingly talented knifemaker we have here on our little corner of the internet and a darn good guy to boot. The first knife I bought from Gerry was for my son and since he only lives about 45 mins from me we went to his shop and he a was most accommodating and friendly fellow. This one is mine though and my son can just keep his paws off of it. :D Thank you Gerry I love this knife.

Pretty knife!

Over the years, I have sent old British pennies to many folks here. Most of them came from a small old-fashioned coin and stamp collectors shop in Leeds. I called in yesterday to pick up a few more Victorian pennies, only to find that Dougie, the elderly owner, who I have often had lengthy chats with about all manner of things, even bought one or two knives from, had died a few days ago, and the shop was being cleared and wound up by a couple of his friends :(

That's sad news Jack. Lots of sad news today :(

Condolences to you, his family and friends on the death of the nice shop owner.

I am sure that he led an interesting life. May he rest in peace.

It is very sad when a nice and interesting person dies.

It is sad to lose some of those cool, interesting and old shops too.

Cate

Jack, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. Those little shops seem to be disappearing as the elderly owners die and all the history lost. And then replaced with another big box store. At least that's the way it seems.

The pot keeps getting sweeter, as I have found out that we have an amateur knife and sheath maker in the shop. he said he could make a nice leather sheath for my Mora (my shop knife). I'm going to put on a pencil holder along the side aka firesteel holder, and sketch it up this weekend.

I'm already working on job sites installing our work, which is pretty awesome to do. I might even go to Florida next month for a week or two installing.

Happy Friday everyone, have a productive and relaxing weekend!

Connor

That is very sad news, Jack. I'm sorry for your loss of a friend and passage to the past. The mosre of these little shops we loose, the more the world gets homogenized into a less interesting place.

I'll never thank you enough for your solace. I was shocked this morning when I heard the news. I had since long scheduled some days at my daughter's home and was so upset that when a neighbor came for chatting when I was preparing the Norton, I forgot to take my phone battery charger, and worse, I probably dropped my bull nose, I guess I left it on the saddle when I ran away... I hope GEC will soon release a new batch, an opportunity to get a maroon (like the one I lost) and a yellow. But a blue one would be welcome as well.

Bon courage JP, et solidarite. Ensemble nous vaincrons

None of my family lives in Nice or nearby. As you said loss of a person is for ever. Circumstances are particularly despicable. Less victims but the same shame on them as for 9/11. A strange feeling is coming, a mix of greater solidarity and a new kind of mistrust. A few days before a couple of policeman and wife (also in the police) has been murdered in their home by the same kind of raving mad.

Jack my friend- I am sorry you lost a friend whom you had dealings with- and obviously enjoyed the relationship you had with Dougie, I can just see you- the way you are being such a nice guy- going into his shop with a real nice greeting to Dougie........ better to have met him Jack than not- so you are luckier than you could have been my friend.
