"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Randy, prayers from North Dakota for you, your wife and doctors and staff as well as your family my friend.

My wife is having her aorta replaced tomorrow morning so I won't be on here for.a few days. I promised packages to some of you and have not got those out yet. I apologize but I have been slammed with everything that is going on. I will get them out asap.

Randy my friend.
All our thoughts go out to your Wife and you and your family. I look forward to hearing the good news of her recovery matey.

Will, thanks for posting the link to the photo essay. I enjoyed browsing it over a cup of coffee this morning.

Randy, I hope everything went well with your wife's procedure.

We're getting some nice, cool mornings here now (mid-50's this morning, and the highs are finally out of the 90's), so I'm sitting out on the back patio updating my knife collection spreadsheet. :D

Randy -my very best wishes for your wifes op.
Sounds quite serious but take into account -and I have this on good authoritay (SWMBO is a cardiac and ICU nurse)- they wouldn't do the procedure if she wasn't up to it.
Recovery period will mean no lifting, carrying and probably driving for a few weeks -slow and steady wins the race.
I asked her how frequently they do aortas at Wollongong Hosp- ohhh Dr so and so does about 9 every week and thats on top of all his other surgery!!
So take heart(:o) they know what they're doing and she will be fine with your help and all the good wishes from around the porch.

Just got in from the hospital and my wife's surgery went well. She will be in the intensive care unit tonight but hopefully go to a step down unit tomorrow. I would like to say thank you for your well wishes and support. I'll be going back to the hospital early tomorrow morning so I think I'll call it a day now.

That's awesome news! I'm glad things went well for her.

Great to hear it went well Randy. Continued prayers for a great recovery brother.

Do you have a spreadsheet or a database to keep track of your knives Barrett ?? I have been thinking about getting a database to use , but I sometime procrastinate.

Harry

Thanks for the update, Randy.
Further smoke and prayers for a speedy and full recovery.
