"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Sorry I wasn't there to help you JB-
I would have gone through that door like a team of fat kids with a bucket of kfc .
Theres a technique -its called extreme violence I think.
Take it easy mate. Got a wheat bag?

Thanks a lot mate! :D My ex Firey mate always gets excited talking about breaking down doors! :D I have, yeah :)

This is/was "Hootie" - a Dapple Dachshund who came to us 12-years ago. Thursday night (just after dinner) she started gasping for breath and started to spasm. Blood started coming from her mouth along with some white foam. I called our local vet and we rushed her to the Vet Hospital where he met us. She was gone when we got there. All of this was totally unexpected. No signs of any type of sickness or abnormalities. We got home about 9:00 PM and we left her in my truck so no insects, etc. could get to here before we buried her. The next morning I dug a grave for her and Cindy and I put here next to Scruffy and Angie - two of our dogs that had passed some time ago. Big ole Modoc Ed cried. She was such a great dog - aren't all of our dogs. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Here she is when she was just a puppy about 8-weeks with her brand new red collar.

Dogs are family, no doubt about it. It really hurts to lose a good one. So sorry.

My condolences, ED. Sounds like you've got some great memories of Hootie to ease the pain of her loss.

I'm so sorry Ed. She sure was a fine looking pup. The loyalty of a good friend is beyond reproach.

I concur, one of the more enjoyable parts of the job Dynamic Entry. :)

LOL! :D There seems to be a universal love of breaking down doors among those who get to do it! :D I dare say, where you live you get the right ones Paul. In Leeds, I know a civvie joiner who reckons he replaces 2-3 doors a week, where the wrong house has been entered!  :D

So I was online today applying for some jobs after quitting my job as a ranch hand. Anyways I applied for two jobs. It took me 3 1/2 hrs thanks to our VERY slow internet, and so many different questions! Do they really need to know what kind of food I would want to be?! Sorry for the rant but I don't remember it being this complicated when I did this a few years ago! Have a good Saturday everyone!

Daniel.

Sorry to hear that, Ed.
Always a tough one.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Ed. Very few days go by that I'm not reminded of those that I've lost.

Oh man Ed- it always brings tears to my eyes immediately when I hear such awful terrible news.
I have had two beautiful friends leave me as well - I have to be careful still to this day how and where I speak of them as I get very upset.
I am glad you had all that time with her.
My last wee boy had to be put down at 2&12 years old because of a tumour in his wee eye socket. He was still a baby.
That is SUCH an adorable photo of what must be the cutest wee puppy photo.
I feel for you and your wife.

Regret to hear that Ed, animals give us much love and happiness, if we didn't shed a tear when they die, well we would be monsters. Seems she had quite a quick end and a very good life with you, sad day though.

Thanks, Will

Ed I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful friend. "Big Ole Modoc Ed cried." I have been there and done that myself Ed!
