Case/Bose 2011 Collaboration

Traditional knives aren't measured in blade length, they are measured in handle length. It's 3 1/2", that's what goes into your pocket. Great little knife.

Sir,

Closed length was what I was referring to. 3 1/2" sounds just right for my needs/wants/desires for pocket carry. That thing is gorgeous. Well done.

 Ooooooo kaaaay :p

Absolutely no offence to Tony or Case intended there, but ya gotta admit that Case handle profiles ain't what they used to be in the '60s and earlier. Even the annual collaboration knife handle slabs are almost flat as a board with a fillet around the edges, which suits a Coffin Jack perfectly.

Nice profile shot, Rick!
Round is good, but not on coffins!
Get's to the heart of the matter!

Here ya go, folksy friends...the 2011 Case/Bose Collab. Prototypes. This is NOT an easy knife to make so they will have their game face on with this one. That said, they made the lockback whittler so everything else is a piece of cake after that. :D

BUMP! Zoinks! Yes please! I do believe that will be the knife that finally bumps the Tribal Spear out of my pocket. In ebony of course. Jumpin' Jehosaphat, what a looker!

Friends,

I'm sure glad that Tony took my advice, when he asked me "What type of collab should I make this year?" Ya, right!

To me, this looks like another fantastic collab!:D;) I sure as heck can't wait to have one/hold one! Just the right size for my front pocket:cool:!

Kerry, Great Photos, and Tony, What can I say...They just keep getting better and better! ;) :D

Andy, I'm with you. This is one amazing knife and I'll definitely take one in ebony . . . and stag, and antique bone, and . . . ;)

Thanks for the pics Kerry, I can't wait to pocket this one.:cool::cool:

Kerry or Tony,

I assume Case receives the finished protoype but do they also receive a disassembled knife such as in the picture with the finished one. One that is used as a master pattern or template for making the liners, springs etc.

Thanks

The two knives pictured are the protos sent to Case. The pull-apart they use for setting up EDM wire cutting.

(the finished knife tells them what they is spose to look like) ;)

I've never been a big fan of the coffin however that knife looks pretty amazing. I can't get enough of that bone. Very nice and it looks like a winner.

Wow. And at 3 1/2" it is the perfect pocket size. Approximately when will it be available?

What a Beauty!!! How much fun are those guys going to have finishing everything flush and even around that cap? There's probably a case of Maalox sittting in a closet ready to be cracked open any day now:eek::D

Eric

Gee, if I'd known it was ready I could have saved them the shipping costs. I drove past Wilfred this morning and would have happily hand delivered them to Bradford.

Wow I do like that one! Just the right size for my pocket too!

looks beautiful, but I just can't bring myself to purchase a spear point. :(

guys

don't really like this one at the moment
the tribal spear to me it's much much much better design

if someone now dislikes their tribal...sell it to me :D

It's always a positive thing to revive rarer or unusual patterns, the Collaboration knives excel in this. The Coffin Jack is a good example of this, but, it doesn't move me.
