Case/Bose 2011 Collaboration

I'd definitely love to have one of those in my pocket!!! but my knife budget is going to the 2011 forum knife...if I can though I would like to score one of these, still frustrated I didn't buy a case/bose swing guard from Charlie mike!!!

This is a seriously attractive knife. I wish the blades were a bit more different from eachother though. If there was a wharncliffe or something on there Id be all over it, but I may have to skip this one. Oh well, at least I managed to score two lockback whittlers in the last few months so my budget is pretty squandered right now anyway...

You can still find those pretty easy from dealers online. And they are always on a popular auction site. Is the problem getting them into Aussie land?

A quick Google search shows these Case-Bose collabs have usually been released in October. I'm not sure about this one.

Do you think you'll get one Dornblaser? It sure looks nice to me.

 +1

Any knives I buy lately goto my US address...I'm only in Australia till my visa is approved then I'm leaving for good (along the way we had a parting of ways :D). Be nice to get home, I have a handful of nice slipjoints waiting to be used. More a case of funds at that time, spent a heap of time looking for work the past year.

Friends,

It seems like most of you approve of the "New" collab that will be coming out. Me too. A few folks don't think that its too great, and that is fine too..but for those of you that don't care for it, have you ever had any of the other collabs, and compared them to the "regular" Cases?? If not, please try to get one and then compare. To me, there is NO comparison! Collobs do cost more, but are well worth it. For a quarter or less that a "real deal" costs from Tony, all the collabs that I have are worth every cent.

No, I'm not a sales person for Tony, just someone from flyover land, who knows good stuff when he sees it, or has it! :D ;) :D

Oh wow, I think this is going to have to be my first Bose/Case collabo. Thanks for the pics and info Kerry!:thumbup:

wow, that's a looker. I agree on the blades, though. would've loved to see a little sheepsfoot or wharncliffe blade on that.

The Crown (aka Coffin) Jack is a traditional pattern going back to the mid 1800s. A Spearpoint Master and Pen secondary are part of the pattern.
Altering these blades would make it not a true Coffin and might also spoil the flow and make an otherwise handsome knife look 'messy'.

If memory serves me well, the last couple of years the bones have come out in Sept-Oct, followed by the stag, ebony, abalone's a month or two later.

I really like the look of this one....trying to picture in my mind how it will look in Ebony. :D

Ditto and BRAVO! If I haven't learned anything else by spending time with Tony Bose, I've learned this; There is no such thing as Tony's take on an old pattern. His knives are true to the originals but made better with modern materials and hand-made attention to detail.

Here ya go, folksy friends...the 2011 Case/Bose Collab. Prototypes. This is NOT an easy knife to make so they will have their game face on with this one. That said, they made the lockback whittler so everything else is a piece of cake after that. :D

I think this might be the best looking collaboration yet!

DITTO! I'm really looking forward to this one

And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the people at Case manage to keep the shape and the grind lines as crisp as possible - don't press too hard on those polishing wheels! ;)

I am pumped over this knife and that does not happen that often. I think one in bone, stag and pearl might just be what happens, with one of them going to my dad next Christmas. Mr Robuck helped me out last week for Father's day. ;)

Bastid, I'm pumped too but it happens to me more often than yourself. :p I, like you, plan to get stag and bone but might have to grab an ebony for number three. I hope the folks at Case put on their game faces for this one and really do a good job on them. I know I have been very pleased with the most recent Tribal Spear.
