Case Copperheads- pics and experience wanted

Just made a trade for an 80's Case Copperhead.
Can't wait to try out my very first one of this pattern.
I was hemming and hawing over that one this morning--debating whether to buy a second when I hadn't even received the first I ordered. I'm glad it went to you as I was thinking about you and your "medium jacks" as I debated with myself.

Beat me to it. Had a message in and was ready to buy. Looks like a nice copperhead you should be happy with it.

That looks like a nice one :thumbsup:

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do with mine!
Thanks guys...
Wow, lots of you guys eyeballing that knife this morning. :D
I have you all in this thread to thank, it's not a pattern I'd thought about much before.
I'm really happy to be getting one from the 80's, I think the 70's and 80's were Case's best work.

I like the one in that Patriot Kirinite, but I've been hurt by Case so many times before...:(

Maybe if that fella that runs CK gets them in stock. :D

yeah, me too- these latest GEC 15’s in cocobolo are giving me pause. Still... I itch.
I wish I was a stronger fella, but if I see a cocobolo 15 in stock I will be pulling the trigger. Just can't go wrong there.

But a Case, sight unseen? There could be all kinds of things that would bother me.

I just ordered the same one. Some nice cover and blade options coming out later though! Single blade clip, wharncliffe & pen, antique rogers bone, amber jigged bone CV... This pattern could be dangerous :D

^^^^^ I agree. Its quality is second to none. Great walk and talk. I look forward to adding the 2021 edition and hope I am not let down.

So very nice. :cool::thumbsup:

Arrived today. I flushed and oiled everything. There’s a sizable gap and the springs aren’t flush at open position on either blade. Grinds are even, though. Walk and talk is good on the pen, and decent on the clip (a little weak on the close). Jury is still out on this one. . .

Good looking knife. :cool::thumbsup:
Too bad about the gap, but that's pretty common for Case these days.
I’m not disappointed, just undecided. It is a good size—not too big; definitely not too small. The fit and finish are acceptable at this price in my opinion. The action is a little underwhelming—for whatever reason one of my favorite parts of owning a slipjoint is the walk and talk fidgeting aspect.
