Hi,

As a new, first time Benchmade owner, I'm curious on the acid etched and stonewashed blade. Do you have to start out with a black blade to be able to create one? Also any tips on how to preserve or increase their value while still getting some use and enjoyment out of them?

Keyman, what material is that last set of scales? Is it blue and can you do my BM 556 it? Wow, and I thought I liked the olive linen micarta. But this one is very attractive for my EDC beater.

It's called TeroTuf.
The color pictured is grey.
But, they also have yellow, tan, orange, maroon, green and blue.
This stuff is extremely comfy "in hand".
Great material for a user.

This material is polyester resin reinforced with polyester textile; whereas g10 and micarta are made with a phenolic resin. The polyester resin makes for a more stable handle material that will not crack or break and has negligible water swell. This material is best for tactical knives that require a handle with no slip.

Many have approached me with this, but none have taken the plunge.
I myself do not own a 300; so I have not handle or played with one, yet.
Though it is obviously a pretty cool design.

Keyman, How much would you charge me for a set of your amazing scales to fit my Benchmade 520, or could you point me in the right direction? The factory scales are destroying my jeans' pockets. HA!
