Chris Reeve Knives - The Emperor's New Clothes?

In other words, the All Knowing and Unidentifiable Hockey Mask has declared Chris Reeve a heretic, and all of Hockey Mask's devoted followers must now crap all over the brand regardless of the reality of the company's reputation, customer service, and product quality.

Nobody mentioned the "Ferrary," whatever the hell that's supposed to be.

that sounds about right to me

Any prove or I have to buy it first? This is what I am talking about - no any description, nothing which can actually make me think that this ia real thing, just "The Sebenza combines the best of both worlds", which is not enought for me at all.

Eather you all can not verbally describe what it is so special or there is nothing special about it. Is it possible that among so many ture believers there is no one who can speak it up in words? This is what looks strange for me and make me think that this is only statement knife not cutter.

I can tell you what is special about Microtech SOCOM Elite or about Buck 110 or about Spyderco Military etc... But no one of you can tell anything about The Sebenza, anything but it is just The Perfection. I am not this kind of person who buy this kind of description.

Can you tell me at least what is edge thickness?

I also hear that it was very sharp. Well I can make any knife (except CPM S110V yet) whittling hair - what the point? Any manufacturer may install paper wheel and produce very sharp edge.

Thanks, Vassili.

Then don't buy it homo it's not my buisiness or anyone elses to convince you what to buy. You just do what makes you happy and I'll do the same. I love crk folders if you don't it's because you've never handled one. I won't give you a reason just call it "magic" "superstition" or make believe but reputations are like stereotypes. "They have to come from somewhere"

Homo? This is something new. I heart that I am cheap, but not homo.

Again more I see CR customers less I want to be one of them!

To me it became common knowledge - like CR knife indicates certain type of people.

Thanks, Vassili.

Well, I have handled an upwards of 10,000 different kinds of folders, and I must say that even among custom knives the CRK Sabenza, Mnandi, and Umnumzaan are among the most well designed, produced, and warrantied knives on the market. I have a small sebie that I include in my EDC rotation, and I have found that it often makes it into my pocket more than my customs, william henrys, and such. Although it pains me to pay a few hundred dollars for any knife, as i do it quite often, I feel the money is well spent with a CRK.

People who make idiotic generalisations are rarely those who's opinions are worth very much.

Did you actually understand any of the posts in this thread?

Do you have even the most basic comprehension of design and engineering?

I for one, find it highly Ironic and Hypocritic that Nozh2002 would say that CRk users/advocates are a certain kind of individual which is rude and closed minded. And that he chooses not to be one.....Too late for that IMHO.
Especially with the 12 or so pages He and Stage2 used to berate and insult anyone who disgreed with them in the Destruction thread.

Point is though.... if you like your CRk knife and enjoy it....Fine.
They OWN their niche in the market, same as everyone else, thru their hard work, not by riding the coattails of someone elses.
If you don't like CRk.... that also Fine, but no reason to dismiss and condemn his entire line of knives on the basis of some Controversial person using Controversial testing, using minute quantities of product for testing.... and posting it in multiple places as utter {hammer of} truth ( Talk about Hype! ). And does'nt publicly stand behind his OWN work. These are the same type of people who throw the term "Sheeple" around far too much.

Some of you need small doses of reality, so that you get used to it first.
Others just plain need to Grow Up period. :grumpy::mad::(

Here's my favorite quote on the matter, from Sal at Spyderco:

Unless you are a manufacturer, familiar with close tolerance manufacturing of heat treated steel & Titanium parts, you are not likely to be able to see all of the differences between one of Chris' knives and others. For example; CRK keeps 0.0005 tolerance on surface grinding. That's one sixth the thickness of a hair. Do you have the knowledsge and equipment to discover that tolerance?

In the end, it's all about trust. CRK took many years to build and maintain their repuation. Built with consistent focus. Even those trying to make a "cheaper" version must "leave out processes" or "soften their tolerance", or they will cost as much.

Rarely do you pay for the "name". That's a bullshit sales pitch made up by the ignorant claiming to offer the same for less. Money valuation between countries might offer a "deal" for a while until the money value balances, but all in all, you will get what you pay for.

Please, add me as well. Until you grow up at least.

Thanks, Vassili.

Comments like that indicate a lack of maturity on your part, not mine -- but then, you're the self-proclaimed expert in logic, aren't you?

I notice your ability to write in English gets better or worse depending on how foreign you feel like pretending to be.

Are the children here going to address the posts rather than the poster.

Too much childish bickering and forum chasing.

Consider the above a warning. A very stern warning. This is not a playground for 4 year olds and many (on both sides) are acting as such.

So you are thinking that Noss and Nozh are the same person?

We get it, you hate knifetests.com, probably because it gets more traffic and better reviews than your website.

Give it up dude. No one cares what you think.

Well, I care what Phil thinks, and agree with him on his opinion of knifetest.com, and many other things.

I am sure Noss is a very nice guy, and his heart seems to be in the right place, but his tests do not have any value for me personally as a knife owner and user.

Withdrawn due to confusion about which thread I was in.

Turning 60 has not gone easy on me.

Somehow it turns from CR value again to Noss4. Is it so painfull for some so they just can not stop - he is doing good job and this is obvious.

Can we really stay focused on topic?

I really like to pass this knidergarden discussion behind and hear more from Hamon and however join his effort to describe what make Sebenza different, what it seems to be undescribable for many.

I can perfectly understand him and respect his opinion, but keep this "The Knife, The Perfection, The Sebensa" away, please!

Thanks, Vassili.
