You forgot the following :

•friends and family
•goods and services
•PayPal
•Net to me
•ignore list

No self respecting sentence should be without those hit phrases here in the PaypalPayPalPaypal section of PayPal sponsored by PayPal

As in all the a-holes asking for payments via PayPal gift? I'm all for ousting them overboard too.

What about people asking for payment with USPS money orders? Or what about buyers sending a personal check?
Has anyone ever said that paying with Paypal gift is the best way to pay?
The OP of this thread paid used goods and services. Until the paypal parrot came along nobody was talking about payment via gift.

Here's the original sales thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1435897-Two-fixed-ZT-BRKT

I purchased the other knife in the thread and got the same run around. I did finally get my knife after about 2 weeks went by.
cncmaster43 was extremely slow at responding to my messages also. The best part was his shipping method or lack there of. He literally dropped an unsheathed fixed blade in a small priority box and stuck a piece of bubble wrap next to it. He's lucky no one was hurt during shipping.

I bought three knives from Cncmaster43 a few weeks back. He shipped three fixed blade knives in an ENVELOPE. I opened the mailbox to find the envelope torn apart with three knives laying on top of it. Definitely do not deal with this guy.

Unbelievable. I mean, I believe it. But good lord. Stupidity knows no bounds.

Below is a screen shot of the pm showing when I purchased and made payment, a screen shot of tracking, and my email feed with cncmaster43:

^ I do, PBC!

It basically boils down to self control, and maturity. It's unfortunate, that certain disadvantaged people appear challenged navigating through life with inferiority complex issues, and incessantly try to assert their authority/knowledge on other people. There is an excellent word that I heard once, that's perfectly describes these type of people: SANCTIMONIOUS! :D

This is an excellent description of some on this forum. They indulge so deeply they can't even stay away after repeated promises to leave.

Way to go guys. You turned this thread into discussing me rather than the topic or the folks involved with the issue

You talking about self control is hilarious.

Yup.

Yup.

And this has to do with the topic how....?....

Is there not a glaring flaw in a feedback system wherein it would be improper for a buyer, who doesn't get his knife, doesn't get a refund from the seller, and has to resort to PP to be reimbursed, to leave negative feedback for the seller? To me, this is a perfect example of why the current feedback system is, literally, worse than useless. It is greatly biased in favor of only positive feedback being left. Checking GBU can certainly reveal potential problems that feedback scores may not, but the feedback system shouldn't so easily give a false impression of a member's trustworthiness. Just one man's opinion.

I don't necessarily disagree with what you say regarding when feedback should be left.

Have you gone and checked out a lot of the negatives that people have? Many times it is not exactly clear why they were earned. You'll get two negatives for the same deal with one stating (and i am paraphrasing) "guy was bad seller, untrustworthy" and the other " bad Buyer, he's a waste of time". Then you'll see one party leave it with a similarly vague description. Even in situations where they spell out exactly what happened in 80 characters, if both parties left a negative then you would not know who was in the right and who was in the wrong. On occasion I've seen it left in error and never rectified.

My point is, you can learn a heck of a lot more from threads like these on who not to deal with and the reasons why you shouldn't.

Also, when someone deserves a negative feedback and you are allowed to leave it per the rules, leave it. It's another way to help the community mark trouble makers and with the harder stance on retaliatory feedback there's no reason not.

Nearly as much as the 20 or so posts prior. ;)

So in one comment to you he's had no issue with his post office, in another comment they'd lost a Contego a couple weeks ago. So he either can't keep his stories straight, or Contegos don't count, which is it? I vote for door #1.

One thing I could suggest to the rating system(or those positing negatives in it) is that if a negative is issued it includes a link to a thread in this sub forum. A negative without full explanation and a chance for rebuttal isn't worth that much to me. I get a lot more out of these threads where the whole story is pried out.
The rest of the rating system problem I leave to those in charge. I am sure they are aware of any faults in it. I bring up those faults from time to time only to let those that aren't aware of them know.
This of course is still off the original topic of the OP, but that was wrapped up on post 5

Also right on point. Why didn't riverrat call out any other of the off topic posts?

Because RiverRat posted without having coffee 1st and may have been a tad unfair and hypocritical in his judgement :o...you know, human stuff:D

I still see it as a thread about an all around poor seller who at the end of the day has no clue what he's doing, takes no responsibility when things go south, and in general doesn't seem to care about the sharp and pointy community nor most likely the hobby in general.

I see this as someone who should not be allowed to sell until they get the hang of how to go about doing it.

As he has yet to post in here (which who knows if he even is aware this section exist or any section outside of the exchange for that matter ) all I have to go on are his responses to the OP and honestly, they suck.

I've seen sellers get ripped apart for less and I suppose I may have been a tad agitated the focus seemed to be drifted away from this member and his extremely careless and self centered way of going about his transactions and start to focus more on musings of the feedback system.
