Comeuppance's giveaway and Mother's Day thread! (Winner announced!)

This is my official entry post. Thanks much for the opportunity. Honestly I dont have plans for mothers day. My mom always gos to her mothers house and it is their special day. I will however be getting her a card and some type of gift (cant do flowers as she all ready gets them) and maybe a nice family dinner. I am horrible at planning. And especially horrible with birthdays and holidays.

This is my official entry. For the past fifteen (15) years I have been phoning my Mom to wish her. I live in Charleston SC and she resides in Cape Town, South Africa. One day when I win the lottery I will do a surprise visit :).

Mother's Day is bittersweet for me. I love to celebrate the day for my wife and my MIL, but my Mom passed away at the tender age of 60 a few years back.

We will spend the morning together having breakfast with the kids, we will spend the afternoon at church together, and in the evening we will watch a movie together. The key is spending TIME, not necessarily money.

Thanks for the opportunity on the giveaway--very generous.

My wife and I will either go out for dinner or I will pick up takeout so we can relax and do a marathon DVR session...

My own mom passed away over Xmas, so I'll tilt a brew in her honor.

The boys' mom, (aka my wife) gets a trip to Astoria, Oregon for a visit to the Astoria Sunday Market, Fort George Brewery, and a ride on the historic waterfront trolley!

I highly recommend it. Especially the Brewery.

The best thing to do for Mother's Day in my opinion is to plan ahead of time and let your Mother know what the plans are a ways in advance. This always seems to go a lot farther than anything I get her.

For the wife / girlfriend :::Nice bottle of wine or drink she would like and a "No Power Night". Everything electronic goes off and it's candle light / lanterns only and board games, cards, whatever else ;) etc.

My Mother and Mother-In-Law will be together and we will be swimming here as it's really fricking hot. None care for the blades, so it will be flowers I guess. :)

This is also my first entry in any giveaway thread. (great prize, BTW!)

Mother's day weekend is always eventful here. Not only is it Mother's day, it's also my Mom's birthday, my birthday, my wife's birthday (same day, just one year apart), and our anniversary.

My Mother's day plans are actually knife-related. One of the things I'll be doing for my Mom is sharpening all of her kitchen knives. We'll me going over to her house for lunch, then I'll spend part of the afternoon sharpening. After that we'll be going out to dinner with my wife's family. (I already sharpened her knives!)

The plan for Sunday is to take mom to her favorite steakhouse followed by a trip to the gun range. If we have time probably will do a little mushroom hunting. Yeah, she's pretty awesome!

This year she'll be leaving with my baby sister overseas on mother's day
so I got my sister and her travel pillows for the long 18hr flight over. A facetime call will follow suit to know of their safe arrival

I don't live in the same city as my family and I have finals next week so I won't be able to travel home but I plan on calling.

What a generous giveaway. The stepped titanium is beautiful but out of my price range. I've never won a giveaway yet so I'm hoping I get lucky this time.
