Composite Blade Shallot

well at the website i was at you can be notified if an incoming product shows up...i don't know if i can say the website though....ryan

ok so of course once i started to get figgity and stuff i get an email saying that i can order one!....if it's ok to post where i ordered form someone let me know....i know these things are gonna sell out fast....ryan

That was easy, wasn't it?

New Graham (www.newgraham.com) also offers this service, along with many other dealers. The way you work it at New Graham is to put the name (Kershaw) and model number (1840DAM, as an example) in the subject line. In the body just say I want one when they're available. Before long, Voilà! An email appears saying they have the knife for you, do you still want it?! Then reply with a phone call, give em yer card number and addy, and wait for what will seem like weeks for the knife to arrive in just a few days!

it's the same when u call up someone yelling about a bill they never paid you...or a package they lost...it always shows up that day!:D.....ryan

A well known seller of Kershaw knives now shows them in stock at a decent price. They are easy to find with a google search for "kershaw shallot composite" :)

just got my zdp shallot!!!!!.....was thoroughly impressed....these r gonna sell out fast.....i like it and i never liked any framelocks i had...they were all too hard to close....this is easy to close and opens nice and quick.....blade is nice and thin....more narrow than i thought but no big deal.....the only thing i was unimpressed was the sharpness out of the box....was no where near the other kershaws i have recieved,....no big deal but i would have liked to not hve had to sharpen it right away.....glad i finally got one....i'm thinking of selling my zdp delica to just use this...it is one nice knife....ryan:thumbup:

Mine was pretty sharp out of the box, and I LOVE how thin the blade is...should make for some easy sharpening...I just have to decide if I want to put a wicked 20 inclusive on it or not..decisions...

Damnit, DoW, you're going to get us in troubles again! Bet it will thin right out if the stock thickness doesn't please you. You might want to consider getting a Shun Elite paring knife and make a belt sheath if you need a blade that's Darksider-compliant right out of the box (0.01" at shoulder or less :thumbup: ). It's not like the knife isn't going to be thinned out with your coarsest stone on receipt anyways.

DarkSider compliant? :confused::confused::confused::confused:

Pics of the FrankenShallot are here!

Dang! you beat me to it! oh well, the zdp was my first shallot. when i get my 110 and another zdp and a black dam then i can really start frankening :)

I'm patiently waiting for the S110V's to come out...I've got another donor ready to give up her scales!

As for using the black Shallot as a donor for the CB, you have to transfer every piece from the CB to the black frame. The "negative" one (black blade with the CB scales) turned out perfect, too.

The black Shallot's scales are thinner than the CB, so the resulting FrankenShallot is a little thinner than the factory CB version. I am REALLY impressed with this knife! In just 24 hours, it has become my favorite! Sleek, sexy and ZDP!
