Continuing to find ways to decorate with my traditionals...

Looks nice Jimmy, how do you keep them from sliding around inside the display case?

Though I did put little shelves inside one of these types of displays and hung it on the wall... this one, and the others, are simply laid flat on tables. The tops simply hinge open, and my having no little kids (they are now grown)... and having no pets, they stay put where I place them :-)

Very nice. You keep a tidy house. :)

Thanks! :-)
I think it would have been cool to have become an interior decorator! Maybe I could have called my business 'Sharp Style'... lol! Blades being used, based on the client's personality :-) But, the reality is that I am a Personal Fitness Instructor... so the interior decor is only for fun... and yup... I can't help but to keep it all very tidy... just hate a messy, or even worse.... a dirty dwelling! ;-)

The new display has it's direction, and that is.... an 'anything that tickles my fancy' direction ;-) Here it is with my new Otter Messer Anchor knife and my new Linder mini bowie.... Still amazed at how nice the mini bowie turned out to be :-)

Looks very interesting and personal, I can imagine someone coming over and knowing right off the bat you're a knife person. That little Linder bowie is an interesting little piece, I just read an article in Blade, or Knives illustrated about miniature folders, and fixed blades, sorta a whole different collectors market. That would be a cool, entry level piece to my eye.

Thanks for your thoughts :-)
I may add a few more mini type knives, but my focus seems to be not to focus.... but more to diversify. They say "to each their own".. and so I guess this is certainly "my own". So, yes sir... it is looking very personal :-)

Do you carry a knife at all jimmy? Or do you only buy them for display?

Looks great BTW! wish i could have a display like that. I don't think the cats would let me tho ~

Yes, my carry knife is simply a modern Buck made knife called a Metro. The knife does all I need, and since it was given to me by a great friend of mine, it holds sentimental value :-) The traditional knife collecting is a hobby for me, and... a part of my interior decorating in my home :-)

The new display case is taking shape :-)
I did not think the k55k would look good with knives around it having wood, bone, and stag handles/scales, but somehow it holds it's own :-)

You need a douk-douk in there now, and maybe a higonokami.

lol!... I have already looked at both types... and, almost pulled the trigger on buying them. Something else always catches my attention a bit more, and so the other two you mention ( Japanese and French designs) keep taking a back seat... but only for a while...I eventually will likely add them ;-)

You should get a sodbuster if you don't already have one.... And also a TL-29

There have been only two sodbusters that I have considered thus far (though in general, the sodbuster does very little to inspire me as a collectible). One was a mid sized Queen... and the other a mid sized Italian made specimen with olive wood scales. If I do end up with one, I do lean with the Italian olive wood version :-)

What about TL's?

That's another one that does little to inspire me. I am enjoying the diversity my collection is taking, but still get most things when I either like it, or... when I grow to like it. The Utica firm I think still produces a basic American made model, but I think with Utica folders... only when able to visually inspect before buying, would I consider one.... that is, if it someday grows to my liking, lol! ;-)

Cleaned up the four new knives I received yesterday, and here they are being displayed in their new home. I know.... I can almost hear some of you saying "Display them!?... Why not use them!?"... But, this is the cushie life most of my knives live when they are owned by me! lol! ;-)

Amongst these knives... there is some bone, buffalo horn, wood, stag, and sheet metel handled specimens :-)

An Opinel and two SAKs added in. I was worried that the true red SAKs would clash with all the rest, but somehow it seems okay. So... diversity is big time in this latest knife display of mine :-)

My two latest additions added to my display. One being a Swiss made Victorinox Classic in black plastic handle, and my Italian made Falcon fish shaped knife in buffalo horn handle. All sorts of things going on here in this display, lol! :-)
