Did the SERE RC5 make the trip ? I seen the T-shirts but was wondering on the knife.

In my opinion, the RC-5 SERE is not suited for the jungle environment even though its design comes directly from Air Force SERE instructors. As Bear said in a previous post, couple the Izula with a machete and you have everything you need for a jungle environment. Or you could get by with nothing more than the RC-6. Speaking of that, Reuben talked us into doing another book after he saw us instructing and training the Dutch folks. So, I have already laid out the outline for a very specific book on jungle survival. Not sure who the publisher will be or when it will be finished but the process has been initiated. It will also take a couple of trips back into the bush for some specific photos I need of certain flora and fauna. These trips will have to be specific for the needed items since it's hard to concentrate on getting what you need for one project when you are spending most of your time training folks.

As far as the shirts go, the logo is not just for the knives. This is also our official training shirt - that why it says "South America School of Survival" on the back.

The Jungle and it's beauty as seen by a camera is just not the same.

Great Photos and videos. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Bear, Do you think a medium sized knife could cut open a caiman easily? I saw the vid with the guy using the machete and it seemed like anything less might not work?

....and the people

They have a way with kids that I don't think I will ever have.
