Cult of the peanut , members

I believe it was in this thread once, that I remember Jackknife saying that all Peanuts, and other small knives should come with a bail. Recently, I've been thinking thats Very true, since I've been wanting a Case(or any other brand for that matter) 'nut with a bail for my watch chain, but they make so few options with the bail... and they're all on the expensive end(for my budget). Why can't at least the CV rd bone or CV chestnut... even the classic yellow composite in CV or SS come with a bail? Anyway...

As a simple solution, I introduced my Carhartt Peanut to my machinists callipers, and my drill press. :)

I end with a poor mans bailed peanut!

Ice, you've just blown me away!

If I still had access to a machine shop I'd give that a try. You're an inspiration to an old man.:thumbup::thumb up:

I'm going to put in a request with the current Grand High Muckba of The Cult that your status be given two immediate level raises.

Yes, Ice, I think we need an armorer for the Cult. As someone who has lost a peanut that fell through a hole in my pants pocket, a lanyard would work well. Some inlay work on the bolsters and a lanyard for my peanut.

The wheels are turning. I have to ask the scribes if I can customize Excalibur (now reborn as Anduril).

Finally a member, just got this yeller peanut with CV:

Tiny little thing, but it served me well at lunch. Great fit and finish, especially for the price, this thing is polished like a jewel.

Hello, new guy checking in to the cult. I have been lurking in the shadows for around 2 years now. Finally decided to join. I don't go anywhere without my chestnut cv peanut, I also have a blue bone with stainless blades but that one doesn't hit the pocket too often. I have read every single one of Jackknifes stories and enjoyed all of them. Too bad life isn't as simple as it was back then. I look forward to talking knives with all of yal.

Welcome, Bonescale!
I NEED to get a chestnut CV Peanut. Do you have any photos of yours you can share?

I have been a member of the peanut crowd for quite a while now. I had a pretty good collection of slip joints but I sold off quite a few except the peanut. I just had to keep this one as it just disappears in your pocket. I was not to excited about how well it cut so recently I re-profiled the blades to make them thin and razor sharp. Very happy with the way it cuts now.

Thanks guys! :o

Jackknife, I am most humbled, for my simple mod to garner an accolade from the Grand High Muckba himself!

Probably my most used knife every day, so capable and rather cute too ;)

Picked this one up as a gift for my father-in-law for Christmas. He lost a similar knife that his dad gave him right before he passed. It may have even been the same knife. I was going off what my mother-in-law could remember about it.

Congrats on that beautiful yellow Peanut! It's THE classic IMHO. I've had mine about a year and a half now and it's a rare day that it's not in my watch pocket as my "#2".

Wonderful thought with that gift. :)
I'd say your going to have a very happy father in law this Christmas!

Yeah, it's already grown on me, I think it's going to be stealing pocket time from a lot of my other regular EDC slippies. Sadly the fit and finish isn't quite as good as I first thought. The blade has no play and there are minimal gaps, springs are nicely flush and everything's well polished, but I forgot to check the blade centering - it's not something I care about, generally. But today I noticed some scuffs on the fresh patina, turns out the main blade rubs the liner on the mark side, so it's going back to the Case factory on Monday for a tune up (or replacement more likely, I guess). I'm honestly considering buying another so I'm only without a peanut for one week instead of 3-6, the chestnut bone is extremely tempting.

This is where the Cult really shines. Lots of knife users had similar knives, getting a simple but outstanding knife in their hands is what I am most proud of. My father used, and lost, Schrade pen knives. He still has the Schrade peanut I gave him, I need to sharpen it this weekend for him. I need to take some pics too.
