Cult of the peanut , members

Carl, you've changed my set up. I've always had a Vic classic on my keyring. The current one is a blue alox classic SD. I've got a couple lights on my keychain. Then I've always got my peanut and Maratac copper AAA. On top of that I have my 300L Surefire Titan. Then a basic el cheapo handkerchief from Wally World, in desert camo, in my pocket. I've taken to carting some stuff in my big Spec Ops Wallet Jr. Magnifying glass, I am going blind from diabetes, and I have a space pen in my shirt pocket. I need some more gear, generally office friendly. I carry more than that outside the office, you can always write on your receipts in your wallet or even use them for tinder. Taking some cues from the ol' Jedi master. (Or Sith lord...)

Come, Luke, pay no attention to the old guy in the white robes. It's way too bright over there. Come over here to where it's darker and more comfortable on the eyes. You won't need that flashlight, just a peanut. Trust me!

Recently I stumbled across this little impulse acquisition. It's possible some of my fellow Cultists have stumbled across my earlier posts in another thread showing some of my Japanese Sabre knives. Sabre is a brand that might not have much collector interest but their knives are solidly built and I'd go so far as to say some are both attractive and highly functional, especially for the pittance many of them can be had for nowadays. So when I saw a chance to expand my peanut collection, I jumped on it.

There are cracks on both handles, which are fake MOP to begin with, F&F are iffy at best, and it's stainless instead of carbon steel. But, hey, it's a peanut, right?

Classic peanut profile right there! But...wait a minute. What's this on the other end? Is that what I think it is?

Yep. A sheepsfoot! This is no ordinary peanut! Ladies and gentlemen of the Cult, I present to you: the stocknut!

Who says you have to spend big money to have fun with this hobby?

Well, that's just neat-o! I have an old Sabre pen knife that I carried all through high school, so seeing that cracked MOTS handle makes me all nostalgic. :)

Stocknut? What the heck is that?! Are you sure it is a Peanut? Hmmmmmm...

Okay, I have to say it.

I'm an old fart. I know that. It's very rare I run across something I haven't seen before in one form or another.

But…

I've never run into a stocknut! Definably a first for me!

I love it, long pull, three blades, stockman setup but peanut frame. I am at work on break now, I will have to think on this one though. I would say yes, no problem. It's definitely part of the family.

My wife and I had our first kid earlier this week and just before she was born my wife gave me a gift. It was a white Ichthus Case'nut to carry during the birth of my daughter! It hasn't left my pocket since. So I proudly join the cult with this Peanut:

That's totally awesome - and what a great peanut that is. What color are those scales (hard to tell in the lighting of this pic)? I like that one a lot and it's a very special one indeed!

Welcome and congratulations. A peanut for the birth of a little peanut, that the little peanut might one day carry her very own peanut!
