I have to agree with you, Pete's devotion to his peanut has brought out a real beauty that only time and lots of loving handling could have done. The look of a everyday pocket companion!!

Went on a Peanut binge recently.

Peanuts in the "wheel" to the right, obviously; those look like some nice ones, bflying! :thumbup:
I think I see a couple of Colts (at about 6 and 7:30), but will you please ID the others? Thanks!

Yes 5k, you nailed it. Two Colts, and Four Frost variants. @Six: Colt Black Stag Bone. @Seven: Colt Titanium (w/smooth bone). @Ten: Trophy Stag. @One: Steel Warrior with Buffalo Horn, @Two: Frost 40th Anniversary with Ram Horn and MOP. @Five: Uncle Lucky with Ram Horn and Wood.

They are all pretty decent. And if comparing just to cost, they are all bargains of the century. But my few examples show that the Colts are more refined and better cut/fit on and around scales. Not bad mind you, but just little gaps and slightly off cuts that you really only notice if examining closely.

I've been trying to justify my collection lately, I have really narrowed it down, but probably have about fifty knives total still. I was scared to death of losing my peanut in deep brush in the back yard (acre back yard that wasn't cut until a couple weeks ago). ESEE Junglas machete and Opinel made short work of vines, brush, weeds etc, the no name push mower with a Briggs and Stratton finished the job (yes an acre :eek:). After my shower, I was tired, and looked at my knife collection. In the pocket went the peanut. Anything more is too much in this heat and humidity.

Maratac copper AAA flashlight;
Case Damascus peanut from Carl;
cheap desert camo hankerchief from that Bentonville AR behemoth (my father is amazed that I use tissues to blow my nose instead of the handkerchief, I wipe my brow and use that as a bandana pop :confused:);
albuterol inhaler;
my medicine bundle my father made for me, just got restitched, has mane and tail hair from my mothers appaloosa and my late sisters rosary;
my keychain with a couple flashlights, paracord lanyard on a wannabe carabiner clip;
no name space pen from a certain Washington based Co Op in my shirt pocket;
and biggest of all, my SPEC OPS Wallet Jr. It has all kinds of stuff in it, not just debit card, cash, license and insurance cards.

I have had all manner of other gear, but sometimes you have to travel light.

Thanks for the identification and mini-review of your peanuts, bflying. :thumbup: I'm familiar with, and impressed by, the kind of knife Colt puts out; I have a black stag bone sowbelly stockman and a titanium-coated carbon steel canoe with G-10 handles (among several other Colts), so I had a pretty good idea about those Colt peanuts. Around Christmas, I received a catalog from that Foggy Mountain Breakdown store in TN, and noticed that Frost had a lot of inexpensive peanuts displayed there with an interesting variety of handle materials. So it's good to hear the opinion of someone who has the Frost peanuts.

Picked this one up along with a small Boker pen knife. The Boker unfortunately went back as the main blade wasn't lined up properly and would hit the inside of the liners not closing properly. The Peanut however, is here to stay. I see why they have a cult following. Blades spent some time in a potato to get things rolling.

I guess you can count me in as a new member!

(This is my reward for myself after finishing reading all of Jackknife's stories)

Then you got two really nice gifts out of it in my estimation. His story portfolio contains some real gems. Let us know if you get a visit from an odd fellow and a dwarf. :)

I keep trying to get them into a new 2017 Suburban. With AC. They go into a whole dissertation about their magic ride, I trust in their judgement.

Maybe I'll get them a brand new Sequoia, that might change their minds. Grand High Muckbas come and go, our welcoming committee will be active til' Judgement Day ;)...
