Cult of the peanut , members

I guess you can count me in as a new member!

You're going to love it. :D There really is something about the Peanut in yellow Delrin; mine has nudged its way to the top of my rotation for the past month or so.

Here is an update for my truly EDC, (for two and a half months anyway), Case Peanut.

Beautiful worn out jigged bone man, beautiful.

I have to agree with you, Pete's devotion to his peanut has brought out a real beauty that only time and lots of loving handling could have done. The look of a everyday pocket companion!!

I also agree with you fellas - Stich's peanut is a truly pocket-worn beauty!

Ben that's a beauty , congrats

Fantastic Chestnut Bone Peanuts, and thanks for the kind words, Jacktrades my friend I think you and I have been carrying ours about the same time frame, yours looks really great, I'm at over 4 years 7 months of consistant everyday carry.

Hope everyone's weekend is as nice as mine has been

Stitch, we have got to see a before and after picture of your Peanut over the past 4 years 7 months!

Ben, I don't think I have any pictures from when I revived it, but I found this from May of 2012 when I joined the forum, at that time I had been carrying it 5 months, best I could do.

I haven't seen a old image of it, the jigging has really mellowed out.
Pete

That's a pretty great progression! Hopefully that happens to mine soon! When did you realize your jigging mellow out?

Here is my latest peanut, which is my third, I think, all from Rough Rider. One of these days I want to try one by Case in CV, but I must admit, the Rough Riders are really well made, and their SS blades get nice and sharp. Sharp enough to whittle this little wood spirit in a western red cedar branch, anyway!

Redeemed some of my points from Collector Knives and ordered a Peanut, CV with chestnut bone.

I've been carrying mine right at two months, along with another knife, but the peanut is getting more and more of the use. Mine is the SS and I use both blades and she hasn't even needed a touch up. Funny how such a small blade in a steel that isn't usually regarded too highly can outperform larger "better" knives for some jobs.
Had some thick and bushy squash plants this year and reaching in to cut out squash with a large knife, I usually took out some leaves and stalk too. The peanut has been good for reaching in and cutting off the squash where you can't really see and cut by feel, and the thin blades work great for cutting off okra too.

I finally have a case peanut and its nice to start out with a really nice one. A Select Mediterranean Blue Peanut. I like how the blade is not polished. I also like the nickel silver liners. Its my favorite blue bone so far. The only drawback to me is the pull is a little heavier then I like on the main blade. I have weak fingernails. I think if it was more like my mini copperhead it would be perfect. Its closer to my case sway back gent in pull. So not sure I am in the "cult" yet of carrying it over other models but its nice. If the pull was a little less or I could pinch it open it would be in the running for edc.

Rescued this peanut from a local pawn shop today.
