Cult of the peanut , members

Well, the little TruSharp Peanut has already kicked the CV Amber canoe out of my RF watch pocket and into my LR pocket, when I finally get my CV Peanut it will kick the TruSharp 'nut into the knife collection box, the Canoe may end up there as well

I realize now that I should have just gone with a CV 'Nut in the first place, instead of buying the Canoe, it was bigger than expected, I was visualizing a Baby Butterbean size when I ordered it, the Canoe is closer to SAK size, blade wise

I could get along just fine with a Yeller Sodbuster Jr CV (for heavier tasks), and a CV 'nut, backed up by either a Pioneer or Farmer SAK (for the tools)

Viva Los legume!

You could say I have dipped my toe in the water (or drank the Kool-Aid ;)), as my first peanut came yesterday, and cut its first package open just now.
It's a gray, dismal day here so I had to use the flash, but here it is. And guess what . . . it really does cut! :D

I've said it before, and i'll say it again
the peanut looks good, i have no issue with the blade size or shapes, they look great
but i just gotta have more handle size to work with. Put a peanut blade(s) into a 3 1/4" or even 3 1/2" frame and i am good to go
guess thats why i gravitate to the texas jack

Probably why i should finally give in a pick me up a case pen knife in cv..kind of the same concept, just wish it came in some different scale choices besides just yeller delrin ;)

That's a drop dead gorgeous 'nut! Love the imitation tortoise shell, lots of color and depth.:thumbup::thumb up:

Carl, Grand High Muckba that approves of tortoise shell.

As a Member of the cult who has proclaimed to carry a peanut and not any other knife in pocket for a year I'll tell ya... It really does everything I need a knife to do. For what it can't do I keep larger knives in my car and a SAK pioneer on my work bag. Still haven't had to resort to them though...

Maybe I haven't look hard enough but do they make a chestnut bone Texas Jack?

Very quick to do, less than 5 minutes, as the back spring is not as hard as the blade

Hey, the peanut may not be for everyone. It is a small knife, and a ham handed individual may not be comfortable with a 2 7/8th handle. Case needs to make the penknife in more scale choices.:thumb up:

agreed, besides my buck 309 is already yellow delrin ;)

So far this year I have carried my yeller peanut and it has done it all. I'm worried thought.. the -30 to -40 C temperatures due to these arctic temperatures is starting to make him look funny.

Requst re-entry to the cult of the Peanut.

I had a Queen Peanut, but I never really bonded with it. I sold it a while back. I have always wanted a yeller nut. Well I acquired one.

Can I be back in? I got another Peanut on the way.... I think it's going to be pretty sweet.

Just this morning i took delivery of a yellow mini trapper and a yellow pen knife, and i have to say the pen is a bit of a disappointment the back spring is so weak i have put it straight into the non rotation part of my little collection, i am thinking about taking a good look at GECs Esquire, but to be honest i have no real problem with the Peanut although i have big (ish) hands and as i have 3 and 1 inbound maybe i will stay true to the cult...
Just after i posted this i realised i had not "washed the factory out of the knives" so i dunked them in warm soapy water and brushed them out wth a toothbrush and put a spot of oil in,result was a bit more snap but i think it is the lack of a half stop that makes the pen seem weak and when i compare it with my 32024 1/2 which is at least 47 years old and still has great walk and talk i wonder what the pen will be like in 40 some years...

I have three Peanuts two CV & one SS, and have been mostly carrying the Chestnut ,not to keen on the feel of the Yeller, anyhoo a few days ago i thought i would give the Amber bone SS a runout and i have to say it slices like a dream and so far no sign of losing its edge, my question is am i headed for a let down ie harder to keep an edge on ? Also i confess i am not that keen on patina and that Amber bone is sweeet.
