Custom Traditional Knives

Shipwright

That Blackwood western trapper is beautiful - can I has some specs please?

It's 4.2" closed, with a hand rubbed CPM154 blade. The African Blackwood is really beautiful, has just a hint of brown streaks in the sunlight. And of course Rick builds a very solid and smooth knife. One of my new favorites for sure!

Giving this a Bumpski.

Slow and steady, the custom collection so far.
For those who might ask,
1. Ken Erickson Westinghouse Single Blade Jack
2. Eugene Shadley Coke Bottle
3. R.Bose Coffin Jack
4. Ken Erickson Zulu Spear
5. Bret Dowell Loveless City Knife Tribute w/Zulu Blade
6. Bret Dowell Loveless City Knife Tribute Shadow
7. Bret Dowell Trapper
8. Bret Dowell Lanny Clip

Excellent group of knives Tim! Love them all, but especially that Erickson jack and of course that Bose, which would be the king of any collection!

Reese had a smaller version of Tim's Coffin Jack at Blade a few years back, 3" closed IIRC. It was my favorite of the twenty or so knives they had that year.

Of course I love Ken's work too

Here is my Brent Cramer 3.5" Lanny's Clip that was generously gifted to me by Brent and a lady in his church. What an amazing gesture!! It has vintage micarta handles that have great color and character. It has been riding proudly in my watch pocket since I got it and has been put to use! Thank you Brent!

I love the colors! It's only going to get better with age and use.

Very nice mix of hues to that micarta. That makes for a really nice knife. Very clean plunge line and I like the little punched out look that the sharpening notch has. Great choice of shield also!

Looks fantastic! I really like the size and that it has a full flat grind. Brent knocked it out of the park~

Wow 3" would be something else for a coffin jack. I can't imagine that.

Haha thank you Chris :)

Figured I'd add my new addition here too. Ken Coats 3 3/4" swayback jack.

Great looking knives folks. Ken builds a great swayback. Nice collection, Tim.

Might as well post my Johnny Stout Zulu, I am quite fond of this knife

Kris, I still think that Menefee dogleg is among the top several custom traditionals I've ever seen.
You can show that every day as far as I'm concerned!

Thanks Jeff, it holds a special place with me, would never sell it, that is for sure. Nice thin grinds, and the extended spring on the secondary is a nice touch.

- utterly agreed, a gorgeous knife, and a gorgeous shape

Here's the dogleg I got Bret to do me not so long ago...

The Tozaki is the most I've spent on a slippie (just over £50, I tell the missus  ) and it's real good too.

The Mason and the Erickson.......well, they're damn brilliant too :D
