Cutlery Proposals for the Bladeforums 2015 Knife

Come on GEC and Case!! If you are going send an entry do it already!!! It's May and we're all chomping at the bit! CSC has provided an awesome submission, so if your teams are going to show up, show up! Otherwise quit teasing us with whispers in the wind!

Eric, on the above knife (which is more in line with what the actual knife would be) the sheepfoot nail nick would be on the pile side. Just don't have any blades available with that setup right now.
This knife, as described, would be fine with me. I like the shape of the clip blade, I like the shadow pattern (compared to the various bolster options depicted so far), I like the shield. I am not a fan of wood handles but I could live with it.

I gotta say I just LOVE the above version of CSC and Erics submission. A total win for me in every way, very traditional, very appealing to the eye. I love the wood and the largerish 4 inch size on a thin light knife is perfection in my book. Single spring, catch bits, man I'm drooling. Gec and Case are great too, but I say its a win for CSC :) I would of course be happy with anything, but I think it will hard to beat. Anyways thanks to everyone for the effort involved so far.

Casey

I'm good to go as it is, with the current CSC offering, and would also dissent against the Turkish clip. This model is great so far!

While I'd still love to see GEC and Case's offerings, as it is I'm down for ordering 2 of Canal streets proposal!

I don't think we're running late this year, it's just that the other thread was started WAY too early! ;)

Yep, it was started last year! We are ahead of the schedule as compared to last year I believe. For me, I have enjoyed participating in the chatter about the knife:)

This is my first rodeo, on this process. What is the usual time frame from knife/mfg selection thru delivery? I would think it would take at least a few months to get all the initial offering, feedback, final drawings, orders, mfg schedule, tooling, mfging, distribution etc.

Typically, we've been receiving our knives for the Traditional Forum somewhere around Nov. This takes into account all manufacturing and delivery.

Was last years earlier? I seem to remember it being just a tad earlier. I may be wrong, though.

Everyone likes to get them before Christmas, soon enough to give one as a present in many cases.
I have asked that they be shipped by the end of November.
Some cutleries need to get them into the schedule soon!!

I have been keeping in touch with Case and GEC.

GEC is doing one of their fancy "architectural" drawings, so we should be hearing from them very soon.
Case is a bigger operation, so to get through their systems is more ponderous.
I hope to hear something soon!

Thank you Charlie and keep up the good work!:)

Thanks to Daniel & Charlie for the information. I was thinking maybe somewhere around September, for some reason.

I have been thinking about this knife and how some people like it in shadow and how others want bolsters. Since a lot of people would like Micarter handles, why not make the handles in natural Micarter and have black Micarter bolster ends with the big pivot pins. I have seen a few custom knives made this way and A.G. Rusell sells a CSC like that.
