I would buy Les a beer and he seems like a nice guy. However starving yourself for 5 days or doing drugs with aborigines does not teach survival skills, I do like his harmonica skills.

I don't know Les. Never met the man. He has made himself wealthy doing what he enjoys. Good for him. I don't know his source of expertise. He didn't really get on the survival bandwagon until the mid-nineties from what I understand. Before that he was a musician/songwriter. Briefly a canoe guide and garbage collector in the early nineties. I have not seen where he has claimed to be anything other than an "expert" in survival, a photographer and producer. Ive only seen a few of his videos and found them mildly entertaining. Anoying at times, but usually entertaining. After all he is... an entertainer.
I don't post much anymore but this thread peaked my interest. I really don't have a comment on Bear, Dave or the new guy Tetis or whatever his name is, I am pretty much over TV survival soaps. I do think it is hilarious that someone who is military or ex military are supposedly endowed with some special ethics, morals or skills. Some of the biggest pieces of crap, brainless idiots I have ever met in my life were/are service members to include SF "operators". It kills me how these shows all seem to tout someones military service as proof of prowess, actually it is kinda sad. Chris

fair enough.
he may have been a late bloomer but his show is actually pretty decent.
seems to be pretty passionate as well.
The last I recall is this - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...t-Brown-(Tom-Brown-Jr.)?p=9747798#post9747798A decent actor, yes. Somewhat more believable in most of his productions that some of the other actors in the genre. And it is an entertainment genre first and foremost. Not intended to be educational. Well, even when that is exactly how it is portrayed by the networks (the genre, not Les himself from what I have seen of him). I do have to giggle when he eats some repugnant morsel and proclaims "I an not getting paid enough for this!" His recent estimated net worth was five and a half million. And as I said, good on him. None of these actors are hurting financially. Well, I've not heard much about Tom Brown lately. Does he still have his fortune?

Almost. Cody's house has electrical wiring and running water plumbing and he cooks with bottled gas. His earth bermed house is made of rebar and gunnite (manufactured shotcrete concrete... like a swimming pool). But really... I don't care about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I don't idolize any of them so if they want to live in a yurt or a sprawling ranch house, they can do as they please. It is their money and they earned it. Just like Justin Beiber and Charlie Sheen. All of them have their fans and detractors. And agents, producers and directors.
I have it on good authority that a wise man once said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."
well for a guy who doesn't care about the rich and famous you've certainly proved that you know more than i do about cody lundins house...
I use the same primitive technique to seek knowledge that Cody does. Google.![]()
that's funny but inaccurate.
supposedly, he's never even watched a single episode of DS. i really doubt that cody lundin spends his free time surfing the web like some of us..
now i know a guy like you won't believe a word he says and it's fairly obvious you think he has no skills or knowledge on survival.
perhaps you should read his books.
the guy is well educated (like it or not).
i'd respect your opinion more if you took it further than google for info.
impressive resume for an actor as well.
He does have and use a computer (google pictures shows one in his home). He has a web presence as does his girlfriend who is also a teacher in Prescott (Sara DeSalme). I never said he had no skills or knowledge. Nor did I say that I won't believe a word he says. He likely says a lot of things I would agree with and a lot that I would not. And vice versa. We could likely teach each other some things. Heck, I'll even cook the steaks. Send him over.![]()
On this we all agree. He's an actor.
Sara DeSalme is not Cody's girlfriend she is Joe DeSalme's wife. You shouldn't make it sound like you know something when you don't.
Check your facts here: http://www.facebook.com/notes/cody-...school-llc/about-joe-and-sara/148634428500522
http://www.codylundin.com/wordpress/remembrance-of-things-primitive-interview/He and Katherine Minott, an English instructor at both Yavapai and Prescott colleges, now live in a house in tiny Granite Dells, a Prescott offshoot.
http://rockymountainbushcraft.blogspot.com/2012/05/dave-canterbury-leaves-dual-survival.htmlSara Desalme who is Codys girlfriend if i'm reading it correctly has said so.
You are boring, you keep making the same simplistic point over and over. Do you know to what extent things are scripted on the show or to what extent the survival experts are free to make improptu contributions? You don't. So don't pretend to. Because you don't have anything else to add to the discussion, etiher for lack of information or analytical ability, you just keep making the same comment over and over. Why keep posting on a topic which is so meaningless to you then? Find something real to talk about on another thread, otherwise add something to the discussion other than the same constant point.
