Deja Vu all over Again!!

Duncan, it was your enthusiasm and belief in that pattern that got me all fired up, let alone that you got it functional again!!
Rarity has something to do with it also, and, Rhidian shares our enthusiasm!!
A perfect cutlery storm!! - Hey an etch possibility;
The Perfect Storm!!
Hey Charlie😊👍

I’m sure Rhidian looked at the knife and said “ you telling me was fixed?” 🤣
But at least it open and closes which it certainly wasn’t doing before, as bd Charlie thank you my friend , but when the Oscar nomination is called there can be only the one winner, and you Sir are that person.

Thought I'd post some progress pics. I hope posting them in this thread is ok.
I've started testing the bone jigging. I made a thin wheel bur out of tool steel to cut the jigging with a rotary tool.

The pattern took a few tries but I think I've got something that looks close to the original "Flat Cap Jigging"
Looks like opposing angled cuts that end up making little diamond.
Then used a few coats of potassium Permanganate to brown the bone.

Wow!! The process at its most elemental!! This is shaping up to be a single-authorship wonder!!
Actually making the jigging tool, is really taking things back to basics!!
Amazing skill set you have, Rhidian!!
Attention Jack Black Jack Black !!

Get hold of Martindale Electric in Cleveland, Ohio and buy some undercutting saw blades... You can buy HSS or carbide..... they are perfect for jigging..... Various widths and diameters..... I used to buy 7/8" and 1-5/16" outside diameter for undercutting commutators.....

I know Goatfoot was previously suggested, as was Ram’s Foot (although GEC has already used that one). How about Muttonfoot? Though perhaps “REAL MUTTONFOOT” sort of sounds like an insult for a clumsy person. “Yeah, ol’ Jim Bob’s a real muttonfoot.”

How about “CC’s MUTTON CHOPPER”? 😁

I’ve also got a pile side tagline for my earlier SHEEP BUTTONS suggestions: Watch your step! 😉

Im suggesting Buffalo because of Charlies connection to the Home and also Brand name..

Buffalo County Cutter ( In a waving Banner)

Hey Rhidian, That's looking extremely good matey.

I was so fixated on the blade shape that I hadn't even noticed the jigging! 😳😁 That is looking impressive

"Watkinson's Fourteenth"

Joseph Watkinson was the first Sheffield cutlery gaffer to unilaterally demand thirteen knives to the dozen from his cutlers (Wostenholm later pushed it to fourteen). Obviously, this was a massive thing in the town. In response the great Sheffield poet Joseph Mather penned a famous song called "Watkinson's Thirteens", which, on one occasion, was sang from the cheap seats of the theatre, in Watkinson's presence. There are several verses, but it begins...
