Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Thanks for reminding me to take my stomach pill GT! :D  I also have to use "The mark of Orro" (very good) :D

I'm just having a cleaning session of my recent acquisitions, which was of course a signal for the sun to come out with a vengeance! :grumpy: ;)

Glad I could be of service, Jack! ;) A reminder of my medical consulting fee will be in the earliest available post. :D
I love this time of year, when the sun being out actually begins to mean something again!

LOL! :D

Yes, me too my friend

The sheepsfoot #25 continues to be one of the handiest little knives I own. Simplicity perfected.

Used my Behring Made 'Mini-Sharptail' to prep some Blue grouse for a curry feast last night.

^^^ Without a doubt! Just your mention of it makes me ready to leave the keyboard and head for the fridge!

That looks great, Shane! :thumbup::thumbup:
What kind of wood is that? The coloration of it is very cool!:cool:
Your work is inspiring me to try a larger carving when I get some time; I typically whittle "miniatures" that I can carry in my pocket between sessions.

I too tend to carve pieces small enough to carry around.
Did you do all that with the pocketknife, or did you block out the bigger shape with a different tool? Looks great

It consisted of quite a few knives actually but the end result was the moose. A mora and another handmade fixed blade helped a bunch. Actually not sure on the wood need to brush up on that kinda stuff. It was rather soft till I got into it some.

Here's one I've been carrying around with me for a while. The little sleeveboard is a surprisingly comfortable whittler. In the picture also are some Rough Rider woodcarving tools I decided to give a try. Set of 12 tools for $8.99, so not a bad deal.

I got this on Thursday and it's been in my pocket ever since. Quite handy and not just for opening beers ;)

 Jordan, it is handy; but use a .99 cent paint can opener for that job! I'd hate for you to get blade play on that gem!

I had to give mine a little test today, whittling is not it's forte, but it cuts:thumbup:

Wow, you guys can really carve! I've been whittling for a year or so now but still haven't progressed past spike trolls  or the occasional celtic lovespoon.
