Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

When I was a boy, a popular game at children’s parties was called Pass-The-Parcel. You’d pass a large parcel round a circle, and when the music stopped you got to unwrap it, until the music started again and the parcel was passed again from child to child. In the centre was a prize for the child who managed to get the last layer of paper off. Sometimes there’d be 20 layers of paper, each secured with tape, so the game could take a while, and was always a lot of fun. What was even more fun was unwrapping the multi-layered package I received this afternoon, which contained some very special prizes. I was glad I had my Forum Knife handy to help me out ;)

What a nice looking package, clearly sent con amore :)

It was very carefully wrapped!

And there’s more!

And here’s my prize – The grail of traditional knife books – Bernard Levine’s Guide to Knives & Their Values – FOURTH EDITION!!

And inside – Signed by two great knife legends!

Thanks Charlie Campagna, you’re a pal! :)

Hang on though, that last layer of packaging feels kind of heavy...what’s this I see?

Looks like an old smuggler’s trick! ;)

Two historic all-metal Penknives, one by Schrade Walden, and one by Needham of Sheffield :)

Charlie, many thanks my friend, you’re a legend, I’ll treasure these always, like your friendship

Jack, thanks for sharing this tale of Charlie's generosity!:cool:
Kudos, Charlie, for giving a splendid gift to a very deserving forumite!:thumbup:

Started to shape and carve a small spoon for sugar out of a branch of cedar, nicked myself good on my thumb as well.

Watch those Vipers bud. They tend to bite when you're not looking. :D

Wouldn't you know it, got myself good three times so far with that tip ;) Spent today with the od micarta opening and hauling bags of fertilizer from home depot to the lawn to hoe and rake evenly for grass growth. Water has never tasted so good.

Sorry, but I have no photos. :grumpy:
Garage door didn't respond to the remote opener.:(
So I used wharncliffe blade and file of my Vic Minichamp to clean the corroded negative terminal in the opener.:thumbup:
Mission accomplished, door back to up-down at the touch of a button.:cool:
What a manly man I am! :D:D

Carrying old faithful while cutting up rags to clean my bike. Fixed and stripped some tubing. Cut up a couple inbound packages and more soil/fertilizer for the lawn, my very first traditional/gec/viper in peachseed jigged.
