Duncan, thank you so much for your informative report on EARL's visit!:thumbup:
I certainly understand the delay in filing an update, since I've been incredibly busy myself since the beginning of February and am unable to do all the knife-related stuff I'd like to do (and ought to do).
I found the historical parts of your post very educational, since I know so little about your side of the world. But I was dismayed to learn that, even on the other side of the International Date Line, EARL is up to the same shenanigans!

As I read what you wrote about the wedding that you so graciously allowed EARL to attend with you, I suddenly had flashbacks to an old movie called "The Graduate" at the end of which a very young Dustin Hoffman causes a bride to run off with him and leave her groom at the altar. I certainly hope the wedding you described didn't end this way, with EARL playing the Hoffman role! It seems that wherever he goes, EARL has trouble keeping his blades between his liners! But maybe in this case, it's not entirely EARL's fault? Bullet holes in churches, brides in low-cut dresses with garters, volcanoes, Aussies with lots of sheep; it just seems to me that perhaps blood runs rather hot in the Southern Hemisphere!
