Gaston you have two choices,
Post your own evidence to the contrary.
Shut up.
Trolling this thread is not an option.
fair warning.

I guess you aren't going to answer my question to you in post #73 ? If you don't have anything worthwhile to add to this thread, then find something else to do.
Perhaps you would like to explain your relation to this seller ? OR maybe you should open a thread of your own about your "conspiracy theories", and people that are in denial. You should have plenty of great information to add

Edited to add... Thanks Karda. I didn't see your post, before I posted.

You are allowed to disgree, no prob.
But not just for the sake of disagreement.
Your post before this was just a troll post.
If you want to disagree, you must do better than that, as in show us something that supports your opinion.

The sellers both sell cleaned, buffed reworked or otherwise monkeyed with knives, along with new looking old knives.
As you know, the well is always deeper than one thinks it is. Who knows what other monkeyshines is going on with some of those knives/sales.

Wow, just wow, you two seem to have reserved ownership of this thread. As neither of you have stepped up to prove your points with hard evidence, why do you demand the same of others. I suppose anyone whom disagrees with you is either a troll or an employee or relation of sportcolbs. This is like a couple of schoolyard bullies going after anyone whom might have the courage to question their claims. It gets to the point of a person not wanting to participate in an open forum without fear of threats and reprisals.

Where did i demand "hard evidence"?
I just asked Gastonknife to back up his opinion with more than Troll posting and abrasive remarks.
You are now asked to do the same thing.
Fair warning to you also.
If you can't handle the conversation and offer more than inflammatory remarks then don't participate.....
Simple really.

I've had the same suspicions of the sellers mentioned in this thread (as well as several others on eBay...). Mike and Karda are just putting words to what many of us are already thinking.

Thank You JAB!
The fact that both of these sellers have been intimately linked to the notorious Jim Parker is just icing on the cake, IMHO. When i peruse a sellers inventory and all i see is "like new" vintage knives, the hair on the back of my neck stands up and wonder just what else they are doing.

No, we all have the same rights here, as you state your opinions so freely, others may also. Fact sportscolb has a feedback rating of 99.9% with in excess of 28000 sales. Are you trying to tell all that in over 28,000 the buyers were just gullible and did nort know any better. For the sake of accuracy and fairness where is your proof?

Jab that is not the problem, to me the problem lies in the presentation of their arguements, basically one that relies on the persons in question being Guilty before being proven innocent. Call me naive but I believe in fair play.

Quit trying so hard to put words in my mouth and you might have something.
I'm saying that In my opinion a good number of them knew what they were getting was a reworked, buffed or otherwise knife.... And a number of them didnt know better and further a number of them probably gave him good feedback despite getting screwed, either because they didnt know better or were embarrassed.

Noone has said they were "Guilty", you need to be responsible for what comes out of your own mouth and not be trying so hard to put words in others mouths. If the seller in question didnt want any scrutiny maybe they shouldve distanced themselves from Jim Parker instead of embracing him and his thievery.
There is a fool born every minute and a fool and his money are soon parted were Jim Parkers mantra.

Karda, I was not trolling. I do not need to have proof, as I just asked for several of you to offer some before you started trashing another man and generating conspiracy theories. Am I not allowed to disagree with opinions? cause that's all you got by your own statements.
Now yes, my last post was a little sarcastic (others seem to do that here all the time) - and if I offended anyone - I am sorry - that was not my end objective

No need to threaten me with something for speaking my mind - which is specific to this post.......I do not intend to post on this thread again
And no I have no relation to the seller - don't know them.

Earlier in this thread, Karda offered up links pertaining to the seller in question, and others who were less than honorable... Some were from BRL, who has more knowledge of knives, and the knife business, than a lot of us combined. If you search his subforum, I'm sure you will find a lot more about this subject, than has been posted here. Are you and Gastonknife saying that BRL's word is not good enough for you ? If you don't feel like searching, I'm certain you could post up a question in his subfroum pertaining to these issues, and get a thorough explaination.
If you feel the need to argue the facts with him, and question his knowledge, I will gladly sit back and watch the show...

Thanks JAB. That is what this forum is about.

One never knows. However, with most people that lack in ethics, the story will always come out. Sometimes it just takes awhile.

Karda, the only posts in this thread that i find abusive are yours.
If you are a moderator of this forum, i am shocked by your lack of impartiality and your apparent narcissistic sense of self importance.
Your posts say more about you than about the people you deride and decry.

Amen brother.
I said I would not post anymore on this - and I fully intended too; but no reason for a moderator to say negative things about me after I choose to leave. I have to say I find Karda's form of intimidation (or moderation as he calls it) disheartening. Just look at some of the other posts here where he has jumped in to moderate - he threatens people if they do not agree with him or have differing opinions - other than his.
Some way to win an arguement - If you don't stop dissagreeing with me I'll ____ fair warning".
Karda - leave me alone and stop trying to be a bully jsut becasue someone gave you a moderator title.

If anyone has an issue with the actions of a moderator, the proper place for voicing said issue is in Service & Support. :)

Now...can we please get back to our regularly scheduled program?

You both were asked politely to support your opinions in an adult manner as others have in this thread. Yet you continue to impungne the other posters and play the marytr card Instead of doing so.
You were only given fair warning that troll posting would not be tolerated, and that is all.
What is a moderator to do when clear direction to heed the warning and discuss the actual topic isnt heeded?
In fairness i decided to not to issue yellow or red cards in lieu of just telling you your behavior was unacceptable. Especially since i was participating in this discussion. Considering your last posts you still don't get it. Imagine what kind of fit you may have thrown had i actually infracted you.

Yes please.....can we get back to discussing the topic?

This seller always has many knives for sale.He obviously buys collections and moves everything he gets.He gives a short ,not great description.Sometimes not even accurate. He probably cleans and sometimes or often overcleans the items he's selling. He seems to sell everything from low end China stuff to upper tier collector items.Ive bid on his items before and won a couple for a decent price. My experience was good, but i do think its a buyer beware situation. The red bone deal is a search item trick. He walks a fine line for sure, but does have some nice items.I doubt he's intentionally selling fakes. But if he bought a collection with some in it,im pretty sure he would pass them along and plead ignorance should he be called out.

Seals, i think you have given a FAIR assessment of this seller. Your experience mirrors my own: some good knives for a good price. And, as i stated earlier, he did accept the 1 knife i wanted to return, with no hassles and full refund.
Furthermore he does not post blurry pics to hide something. His pics are clear and a knowledgeable person can make a solid assessment from them.
My objections in this thread are to those who are not being FAIR.

Yes I agree completely with Seals assessment, also he has actually purchased knives from sportscolb and is in a position to give an honest critique. Roland I think you hit the nail on the head, its all about being fair.

So, a seller who's been shown to have knowingly sold fakes in the past bears no need for scrutiny or suspicion?
Especially when he's selling obvious cleaned or reworked knives now? Especially when he often uses misleading or blatant "not as described" descriptions?
Read my links and if you want to dispute that point, dispute it with the originators. Let me know when you do because i'd like to watch.

Karda, you extrapolate unfairly. None of us has said that his knives "bears no need for scrutiny". By trying to discredit others by manipulating what they have said, you simply discredit yourself.
Every knife on ebay "bears scrutiny", and this can only be done if the seller posts clear pics, multiple views, which Sportcolbs does.
Certainly this seller's listings are not above reproach. Again, no one has posted such. However, the way in which this seller does list, what he says and does not say, is common among ebay knife sellers. He is simply about average.
I have learned from years of reading in the BRL forum that there is little benefit to reading any sellers' description. Instead, enlarge the pics. and "read the knife". Sportcolbs provides good pics.

How have i "manipulated" anything anyones said?
Are you trying to manipulate something?
I've provided corroborative evidence from credible sources. For My Opinions.
What have you shown?
You come in here crying about fairness and reading things into others posts out of context.
When called on it you play the fairness card again and accuse.
Some sense of fairness.

I think a seller who sells thousands of knives, don't have the time and money to sit and carefully go trough every knife that he sells. Clear pictures tells the story. The rating on ebay also tells that sportcolbs is a good guy.

This is what sportcolbs tells in every add:

"We try to describe our knives as accurately as possible, but sometimes we miss something. If we have please contact us so we can make resolution. Thanks for your business!"

And if you read any of my links you will see how contacting the seller goes....both good and bad.
The seller has been informed many times about his descriptions and knives and so far has changed nothing.
A notorious "dealer" here had many good feedbacks, but was still a shady character whom was banned for his practices.
A good feedback rating must be taken in context with his actions.
