EDC Pens

Every day, all day. Backup supply in my desk for when they get lost.

Fisher Space Pen - Black Bullet

Been in my pocket the past six months. I'd like to find some other fun pens that use the Fisher refills, but they are few and far between.

Black fisher bullet. I've carried one for almost a year, just recently put a clip on it -- which makes the pen ride rather high in the pants pocket. Just a matter of time before it's lost I think. Basically I got tired of constantly adjusting the position of the pen to sit vertically in my jeans.

I'd really like to have solid pen with a really tough clip that won't pop off or bend.

Could someone explain to me why so many are interested in these "tactical" pens? I see them and just think... why on earth would I buy that for that much money? Now, I have always liked pens and I have always purchased my own pens even when my employer would provide their pens from the supply room.

It is simply getting something new because you like pens or are they really that much better?

I really like pens, I enjoy writing much more than typing. I would guess the same principle applies to pens the same as knives, flashlights, firearms, watches, tattoos, sneakers, booze, etc. People collect stuff. Personally, i have no use for a "DNA Catcher" on my pen at all. I prefer good clean ergonomics for extended writing. I'm not a fan of the FSP ink as it tends to leak and blot after a month or so of use. This has happened to me on 3 different occasions (2 Benchmade pens and 1 Embassy pen). Very frustrating since my Zebra, Pilot, Uniball, even Papermate Stick Pen did not have any leaking issues.

Hinderer Investigator is a perfect fit. I would like to buy some O rings to fill in the grooves as they can cause writing fatigue after a few minutes.

I've been carrying this telescoping Fisher pen for almost a year. I like it. Very small in pocket, open it up, it's about 5". Closed, just under 4"

I figure many of you know the Cryo so it would be a good size indicator.

This is my Kaweco Sport. Its 5.25" open, 4" closed, 0.25" in diameter. I enjoy writing more with the fountain pen then ballpoints due to the decreased pressure required to write. I find I can write more neatly and for longer periods of time, because the pen requires no pressure to write. Despite the relative shortness of the pen it is one of two writing instruments I use everyday in classes. I use the ultra-fine nib and can easily write within the lines of normal college ruled paper. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants something a little different.

I have very large hands, but I can get a full writing grip on it still.

My Investigator came in the mail today! It's definitely a small pen, but for the couple notes I've written since I got to work I'm diggin' it! I picked up some O-rings last week for it, but they're settin' at the house. I'll give 'em a shot after work.

This is the last 10-11 years of pens. I lost a really nice med rep pen (left it on a clipboard at work) & broke a jotter like the one at the top. Other than that, this is what I've carried.

I've carried my Mathew Martin Ti click pen for nearly a year and it has been a pleasure to EDC.
Not too big, yet not too small. Takes FSP refills.
I broke the mechanism about 4 months in and Matt fixed and refurbished it within a week, and it was back in my pocket within about 10 days.
Not cheap, but I won't be buying anymore pens.

I need to pick some of those up, what size are they (O-rings)? Looks cool, I told ya so! Also, how do you like the ergos on the Tuff Writer? I like the way that pen looks.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a pen that is bomb proof in your pocket? I have stopped carrying pens in my pocket because they leak/explode and wreck a good pair of pants.

Saw Hwangjino's Space Pen last night and had to get it. For anyone curious, it's called "Fisher Space Black Grid Design Shuttle Space Pen." Picked it up on Amazon for 25 bucks.

I've been wondering about these, and the "tactical" pens. Currently use a cross gel rollerball at work. I used to carry a pen all the time, and these seem pretty cool. I like thick pens because I have arthritis. Recommendations for a pen like these that will be easy on my hand? I'm a lefty so nothing the clicks only on the left side of the pen.

I love that space pen so much I'm going to order a black one.

It's thin (if you prefer robust pens) but I like it so it fits in my chef coat pockets. Still thicker than the throwaway paper mate pens.
