Elusive Schrades

Great group, Duncan! Williams enhanced knives are treasures!
What is the red material on the 8OT handles?

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I love these knives by Mr.H. Williams, Schrades in-house Custom Knife Cutler...........

In this photo it shows the Red Bone Shcrade Walden Mintie I think the era of that knife is around the very early 1960's, I also have a Black Old Timer exactly the same- same year - gold shield - along with a same year Schrade made Buck.

2 x stunning Stag Old Timers

1 stunning Stag Uncle Henry

I love Chicken eye'n, and Coon fingerin' these knives lol

How bout we bring them over to a new page ( which they emphatically deserve)!! Let the coon eying commence. Well done, Duncan!!

Duncan, those are sublime! What, plleeeeeze, is the number on the larger round bolster stag OT stockman? I simply must have one of those, sometime!

Heritage Schrade + made in USA,excellent finish, other than that, not much info on this little pen knife, but it is only decent example i have(beside shieldless 80T with worn out blades :) )

While I am not certain whether these can compare to the beauty of Schrade's bone, here are a couple of pearl whittlers. The Carpenter's whittler is one of my favorites and the coping blade is not nearly as rounded looking as my crappy indoor picture

Duncan,
I like the two top knives; the top knife's blade looks like a Schrade Classics (OTC8O) it is not an Uncle Henry blade.
The Red bone 8OT is a strange one too; It looks like the Red bone is smooth, and not Saw-cut like the first early 1960 8OTs.
It also looks like a knife made up from parts: the blade is Pre. 1973, bone handles could have come from an 8OT made in 1985.
They are two knives I would like in my collection.

You also mentioned Buck knives made by Schrade, could you please post a photo of them... Ken

Jamie that carpenters whittler is one of my favorites and yours is exquisite.

Mike

Good lord, Jamie, those are sweet!

Mighty fine all right, Jamie!!

Both nice, but that saber-ground whittler is the bee's knees!

Thanks for the comments guys,

The knives are stamped - on the Pile side of the blades as well as in the liners with H.Williams.
Buck contracted Schrade to make the first run of these knives apparently- and yes, I will take some photos of the Buck along with the Black Schrade Old Timer made in the same year. The knives are identical other than shields, the Buck also has different Bolsters.

Just trying to look up some old photos- here are the Smooth Red Bone and Black 1960's Old Timers...

Aha...found one photo - not the best..

another..

and another..

more..

Thank you Duncan; for showing those outstanding knives.
First the Buck, does it have 301 stamped on the blades?

I have never seen an 8OT like that Red bone knife, does it have any Saw-cut marks on the handle?
However, I believe the Black knife is an older knife.
The match-strike on the Black knife is the same as the early 1962-63?) that came after the 1960-61 Saw-cut bone knives. Ken.
