No, without sounding like a smartass I am indeed rightsince the decision ultimately is in the hands of Mike Perrin and myself. We want to make this folder with the highest of quality and the best of features for a down and dirty work folder so we're taking our time and working through all the details. It will be in production though. Tha's a promise.

What you sound like a smartass, never! It is your decison. But there are not a ton of shops out there that have free shop time or that can do the quaility of Lion Steel or the production numbers. That in it's self limits the prospective field of shops. And if you stay with titanium, you guys will have a hard time finding a better shop Lion Steel, unless Hinderer or Reeves has some shop time. But if you want to say that you have not made a decision on who will make the knife, great!
Denny Hansen, editor of SWAT, magazine always says the same thing about folders and we have the same debate. I guess my question is why would anyone take a folder apart in the field anyway? Not trying to stir debate but I've used folders a LOT on survival classes, jungle, etc. and never once have I ever had to take one apart in the field. The only thing that really needs to be done is make sure all screws are tight before going into the field so you don't have to worry about it coming apart out there. I service all of my gear before headding out on a field trip and usually check screws, etc during every sharpening.
Good point...
But I bet alot of guys in Iraq or wherever who do take apart and clean their gear could come by a screwdriver alot easier than a torx bit.

I've never needed to take a knife apart in the field either. Neither did any of our grandfathers. I think a lot of folks forget that the concept of using screw construction rather than pins is a VERY new idea in folding knife history. There are plenty of ways to clean a folder without gutting it.
Doubt we will do this in Titanium. We have protos in both Ti and Stainless to work and see how they do. I'm never a smartassYou are correct that there are almost zero shops that will do a folder anymore....and do it right. That's a shame.
