From an economic standpoint, the US makes the most sense for you guys, my personal philosophy is allied/like-minded countries, which Italy falls under. Which is why I voted yes.

Italy is trade compliant. China is not. So, another plus for Europe.

Yes. You've earned my trust, which I don't give lightly.

Little disappointed, but I'll get over it.

I own some LionSteel products and they are high quality.

I for one voted no because like a jackass I didn't read your entire post to see that it would be made in Italy by Lion Steel. After I read this I wish I could change my vote to Yes but I can't. Don't get me wrong I would much rather they were made in the states and if they were made in Oregon would be even better!!!! ;) Italy & Japan are about the only foreign countries I will even consider buying a blade from. I will buy an American made blade every single time though over a foreign one especially if the price is anywhere close to what the American made one is.

you(R.A.T) and mike aren't dumb you guys know what you're doing and if you're going to put out a folder i know you'll make sure it's quality or you wouldn't be selling it. As long as you guys stand by it i'm in

It may be backed buy your warrenty ( which kicks ass ), and be a quality product. But I will not buy this item if it is built outside the USA. We need to keep the work inside the United States and keep our own people employed, if all manufacturing continues to leave the USA then how are the people going to afford our products. I do my best to buy USA made products as best I can....

If the quality is up to your standards and your willing to put ESEE's name on it, that's all I need to know. I say yup.

I understand and appreciate your honesty. This is the kind of feedback we are looking for from anyone who will not buy it if it goes outside the USA. We simply want to know your reasoning. Sadly, our choices are limited to not producing a folder any time soon or going outside the USA. Just know we still respect and appreciate your opinion. More than you might know ;)

Definitely prefer the USA, I would buy the knife but I'm not sure it would be an EDC for me. I like to have everything I carry on a daily basis be american.

Canadian here. Who cares where its made. As long as its a quality product, its fine for me. I doubt Jeff and Mike would release a crappy quality blade.

Al though that company makes outstanding products my belief is that u should stick to your philosophy. Even if the knife does not get made, at this particular time but maybe down the line you could find a us maker ? If you sacrifice something as important as ur beliefs on keeping everything use made I think the wait will be well worth it. I vote no

I have complete faith in both companies, ESEE and Lion Steel. I think they are both great companies, and will produce a great product. The pics of the proto are mouth watering.

Btw, has Lion Steel ever produced a folder thrower before? :D

Withdrawn, didn't mean for it to sound like a call out. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Appreciate the explanation for voting no. Mike and I have spent a lot of time discussing this very thing and that's the reason we wanted to bring it to the full forum for discussion. We are working to bring everything we do to the USA, all soft goods, etc. because we believe the American worker can produce the same quality as anyone else and do it for almost the same price. I doubt we will ever be able to do that with the Lite Machete but we want as much made inside the USA as we can. With that said, we will most likely go to Lion Steel with this folder because we really want a folder out this year. But we FULLY understand and respect anyone who chooses not to buy it because of that. If we do this project we will back it with a similar warranty as our fixed blade, ROWEN made knives.
