Got the copper scale on the Squid from earlier. Didn't really like the stonewash finish it came with so I polished it. Looks more scratchy in the photo than it is. Also picked up another Opinel (no9 carbon). This one came a decent bit sharper, though the tip was still a bit messed up. The mechanism was a lot smoother on this which I promptly ruined by putting some mineral oil on it, so I've got it & the no6 in the dehydrator atm, going to see if that makes any difference.
Also last week got a Ruike P-135SF for $49, this came VERY sharp by default; the action is maybe a little stiffer than preferably but still good, 8/10. Seems like a good knife for the price, 14c28n steel. Maybe too hefty for pocket EDC.
Also saw a thread about using a cheap microscope to check edges after sharpening which seems intriguing, especially since I'm still learning. Debating if it's worth as I don't want to accumulate too much junk.
