Everyone's latest acquisitions!

Picked up a ZT 0562ti. Arrived today along with a pack of taco bearings for it. Installed the taco bearings. The KVT bearings were blue plastic? First I’ve seen from ZT. Loving it so far.
How do you like the tacos? I installed them today on my 0562ti and definitely feel a difference for the better. Not as gritty on the firing action.

Got the copper scale on the Squid from earlier. Didn't really like the stonewash finish it came with so I polished it. Looks more scratchy in the photo than it is. Also picked up another Opinel (no9 carbon). This one came a decent bit sharper, though the tip was still a bit messed up. The mechanism was a lot smoother on this which I promptly ruined by putting some mineral oil on it, so I've got it & the no6 in the dehydrator atm, going to see if that makes any difference. [Edit: it did, huzzah. 45c for 4.5 hrs]

Also last week got a Ruike P-135SF for $49, this came VERY sharp by default; the action is maybe a little stiffer than preferably but still good, 8/10. Seems like a good knife for the price, 14c28n steel. Maybe too hefty for pocket EDC.

Also saw a thread about using a cheap microscope to check edges after sharpening which seems intriguing, especially since I'm still learning. Debating if it's worth as I don't want to accumulate too much junk.

Get the "scope" it can and will help you. Gritomatic has a jewlers loop for cheap and will show you what you need to know

I only fiddled with it a minute or two with the kvt bearings which I was surprised to see where metal bearings in a blue plastic cage. I usually run skiffs in all of my bearing knives this is my first time using the taco bearings. The action doesn’t feel any better or worse right now than my 0308 I’ve got skiffs in. I’m sure as the bearings break in it will be noticeable. So far so good. Hope you are well.

7.8 knife watch.jpg

The watch has been around for a while, but the knife is new. It's a replacement for an identical brass and micarta Kizer Grazioso that arrived with an impossibly stiff action that resisted all break-in attempts. This one seems a bit better, but is still a finger buster to flip.

Oddly, I have the same knife in copper and G-10; its action was sweet and lovely out of the box. Odder still, today's problem child seems to be getting harder to flip the more I try to break it in. Go figure.

Sad great looking knife.
Blast of air and oil?

It's a Boker boxer designed by Raphaël Durand. I'm really happy with the 2 I picked up.View attachment 1865492
That thing is beautiful man! I'm about to do some googling now. Thanks for letting me know.

Edit: For other people interested in it, this is something interesting I came across. I first looked at them on one of the biggest knife sites (not sure if they support BF) and it said all the Boxers are made in China. I was thinking to myself, "Who the hell is making such a beautiful traditional in China for them?" Then I looked on other sites and found that they're made in Germany. Just something to throw out there. I really like those.

🤣 No sense in bearing here if we can't have some fun...
But I knew that I hadn't done a decent job of identifying what it was...

Haha true that on having a sense of humor! I've seen quite a few people posting the Nazca on different sites and it looks pretty sweet. I really like Giant Mouse's offerings. Well in their particular niche, GM and Fox Cutlery. They both have similar designs that almost look interchangeable and are both usually really cool.
