Or, does Ganzo deserve to be in the company of an O'Doul's?

It is my understanding that there are many fake beers on the market far superior to O'Doul's

Should "superior" and "fake beers" actually be in the same sentence?

In the whole world of fake knives and fake beer, I think Ganzo and O'Douls deserve each other.

I guess we're done here.

Don't give up,now; this Thread can easily surpass the 400 post mark.....

Wasn't the Axis Lock a variation on a Blackie Collins design?

:D

No clue.

I do think this thread has run it's course though. Most of these clone, counterfeit threads run until Craytab gives up and then die a slow death.

In my mind, this one had some good stuff running through it. Looks like Benchmade may still have the rights to the Axis lock making Ganzo look bad. Not that they need help to do that.

May this thread R.I.P.

Ganzo looks bad if they are selling into this country.
If someone else is selling them into this country, then Ganzo smells like a rose.

76 to go!

Good point.

Wait six months and we will do this all over again!

75 to go.:D

When you consider most Ganzos sold in the US come thru The River and The Bay it seems like that would be low hanging fruit for litigation.

We shouldn't just pick on Ganzo. It looks like a bunch of Enlans have an Axis lock. So much for recommending an EL01 as a budget knife...

Knives like Ganzo are very attractive option for people who aren't so much into that hobby, people who don't care who invented what in the knife industry, who don't care about better steel for x10 higher price. It's why they're so popular.

And, as has been said, they are not doing anything wrong in their own country. If a person imports an EL01 they are doing nothing wrong as well.

Wrong and illegal aren't necessarily the same thing. Legally stealing is still stealing. Which is wrong.

It's illegal to sell counterfeit goods. Why do you think so many illegal Axis locks are photoshopped out?

Because of all the knife attacks in China, the government made it illegal for people to sell knives with locks and it's also illegal for persons to carry a knife, just like the UK.

I'm talking about domestic resellers on The River and Bay Photoshopping out Axis locks. I'm aware in China they photoshop out the entire lock mechanism for the reason you stated.

Nope, liner lock with a flipper, but wait that's copying Kershaw, and Benchmade and Spyderco are both infringing on Kershaw's flipper design. How come no one talks about that.

Kershaw's flipper design is limited to the SpeedSafe mechanism which I'm sure they would defend.

Did you read the thread? There were many comparisons made about brands using each others designs. Ganzo lovers can try and justify it to themselves all they want but in the end BM (and the like) make far better knives anyways.

(sigh)

The statement that was made was that,

Since the axis lock patent is not active in China, they are disobeying no laws.

The importer of a patented item would be the one disobeying the law.

If the importer does not import a patented item, he is disobeying no laws.
