Kevin John=Triumph Manufacturing as far as I could find out. Very well made copies and original designs. keepem sharp

In Western alphabet it would be written 'cai dao' (meaning 'vegetable knife').

Jim

very cool . you did great .

But i wanna say some about 菜刀 in chinese , Literally speaking , 菜(cai) is equal to Vegetables ,and 刀(dao) is equal to knife, but Practically the knife 菜刀 is not olny suit for cutting Vegetables , they are very Versatile and high efficent , When you mastered how to use it.

ps: 菜 is a word , when use as 做菜 、炒菜 、菜刀 etc. means both Vegetable & meat food. when use as 种菜 、洗菜 、蔬菜汁、菜叶、菜色、菜价 etc. means Vegetable only . :D funy?

so 菜刀 does not mean Vegetable knife , for more Accurate translation , we can say it ‘kitchen knife’.

Traditional Chinese kitchen knife , we called it 菜刀 in mandarine chinese , is a kind of Square shape blade without pointy tip.

I never learned to read chinese script and my mandarin is rudimentary at best.. but it's probably ___ Dao?
Dao is the general term for knife and you can add another word in front the describe the type.

I just say dao when speaking to my family in mandarin

edit: ^^^i'm a bit slow to the draw, haha

Um this thread is bizarre lol. Dont see many questions being answered. How is this one guy gonna answer questions about a whole country knife manufacturing? China is pretty big last time I checked. lol

cool . man.

菜 is equal to cai in Chinese Pinyin and taking it by and large is equals to Vegetables in English.

刀 for dao ,and 刀 is equals to one edge blade and sword, and knife in English means small one edge blade , i think.

are we enemy?:D
i never set U.S. as an enemy country , i am just a plain man , not a politican.

you are welcome man

Pay no attention to the Sinophobes, dingy. Any light you can shine on knife makers and manufacturers headquartered in China would be most welcome. :)

Thanks. I'm not finding much on the Web re: a company called Triumph Manufacturing headquartered in China. Could you give us more information on them, dingy? :)

there are alot of Erroneous Understanding and Prejudice on knives that Chinese made.
i know the industry more than most of your folks here , so i go ahead , to trying my best .

i have said above , my Enlish is not well enough to talk it , so i input English words very time consuming , but i am work on it.

i can tell you some what i know , as you said i am just a man and how to answer questions about a whole country knife manufactruing ? do you know there is a man who only few fingers can move , but he Write a book called < A Brief History of Time>

i am just a Ordinary people ， not Stephen Hawking ， but i wanna do my best to let you know more about Chinese made knives.

Don't stop now, dingy. And please try to stay on the topic of knives rather than addressing people here or this thread will go sideways in a hurry.

So getting back on topic, what can you tell me about Kevin John? Are Kevin John knives produced by Triumph Manufacturing? If so, where is Triumph Manufacturing located? And do the make anything besides knives?

the knife makers in china ,generally speaking ， they do not use English name , but do not worry about that , there is knife forums i and Community in china , i will check it out for you man.

you are welcome.

Dingy, just tell us about the Chinese knife industry. Who are the manufacturers? Who strictly makes knives for export?

Tell us about regular people in China relative to knife use or carry.

The reason I keep coming back to Kevin John is because they make the highest-quality fakes I've seen. They also make their own designs. Kevin John fakes are as well made as anything coming out of legitimate Chinese knife companies like Kizer and Reate. I kid you not! That's why I'd appreciate any information you could find out about them.

Thanks again.

I thought Kevin John was proto Reate?

I haven't heard that claim before. But based on the quality of knives I've seen from Kevin John, that wouldn't surprise me at all. That's why I'm glad dingy is here. Maybe he can get to the bottom of it . . . especially if we all support him by staying on topic. At least I hope he can.

Hi dingy - you are good, man:thumbup: Please answer my questions if you can. Where are Reate and Kizer located? Do these companies have Chinese names? Thx.

Singing praises of counterfeiters is going to potentially get this thread closed. Just an FYI.

That's not my intention, RD. You know I'm no fan of counterfeiting. I'm just trying to connect the dots and I'm hopeful dingy may help me do that. For example, if it turns out Reate is behind the production of Kevin John knives, I'm sure that's something we'd all like to know. And if they're not, we need to know that too as it appears there's a rumor circulating to that effect. The big question is, how reliable is dingy's information? The answer is, I don't know. I haven't seen it yet.

Very interesting, pretty lucky to have someone on the inside. How much do we pay the Russians to fly to the ISS, lets keep politics out of this for a change.

Maybe. But the question is, who is the feedback on? Unless I'm mistaken, dingy is willing to investigate the entire Chinese knife manufacturing industry on our behalf. Seems to me that's too broad a topic for Feedback. But frankly, I don't really care where it ends up as long as the thread survives. We may finally have someone on the inside who can shine some light on what's going on over there. Could be too good an opportunity for our community to pass up if his information turns out to be reliable, wouldn't you agree?

This much is certain. The Chinese are coming and they're coming in force. The more we know about them, the less we have to rely on rumors and innuendos. And that's to our advantage as far as I'm concerned.
