Fake Knife Philosophy In China

Yes. Sorry if you don't get why.

Yes. They tiniest amount of research would show you this.

Don't know about the laws in your country, but some knife companies in your country are making counterfeit items and shipping them to our country. This one in particular is Ganzo. This company hurts our hobby and our community. You support this company. Sorry if you can't see the problem with that.

Terrible analogy. We've seen them all. Usually used by people trying to justify and legitimize counterfeiting, patent infringement, and design theft. That is what you are doing here.

You want to tell us about the knife philosophy in China? Well, it doesn't look good to me. Hopefully the rest of your countrymen don't think the same way you do but unfortunately we know some of them do.

i am here wanna clear one thing i am not support the fake. and i do not think the Ganzo knives are fake .

it is sounds like that the Ganzo falls into law prosecution , may you righteous sue Ganzo ? man go ahead .

i am a chinese and live in china , do you think i am a bad guy because i buy few Ganzo knives ?

Please don't go there, dingy. These guys are trying to bait you so they can get this thread locked and they're really good at it. Just keep reporting the facts as you know them to exist and don't take anything they say to you personally. That's the biggest service you can render to our community.

You are right, these aren't copies whatsoever !

Let it go, dingy. Let it go. Just like the movie WarGames, the only way to win is not to play.

i am aware of this trick now by your pointing out , thanks .

they wanna F**K this thread up , and let it get closed deliberately.

it is not a cleaver , just traditional Chinese kitchen knife:D cleaver is alot of way thicker and heaier than 菜刀.

as for advantage , i think it is highly involved in how you use it .

you may try search 刀工 in youtube , there are lots of coool guys use their 菜刀 in very efficient ways .

刀工 gives good results. Still watching videos. The differences with big 刀工, you can turn upside down and beat food for presentation/cooing, and you can put food on side of blade and transport it (how you can use big vs. my size knife).

菜刀 gives me Chinese TV with machine guns.

Can you point me at some videos that REALLY show how 刀工 can be used differently than my small kitchen knife?

Zero

Precisely. If you don't give them the satisfaction of doing that, you win . . . at least from my perspective. And believe me, they'll continue to keep coming at you. It's what they do. Simply disregard them and they'll eventually give up when they realize they can't get under your skin.

I can't speak for any others but I am certainly not trying to close this thread down. My pictures were to simply show that the Ganzo is a replica of the HK. Call it a counterfeit, fake, replica, look alike, or whatever you want (looking at you Zero_Time), it was not an original design and should be noted as such. Dingy doesn't see it that way and he is certainly entitled to his opinion.

But to come to this forum decrying fakes and then not calling a spade a spade is confusing to those of us who tend to be a little bit more on the skeptical side. His original post came across as positioning himself as a "subject matter expert". You have taken his word as gospel and yet the fallacies of his opinions are clear.

Changing font size and using cute smileys does not change that you are wrong. You are supporting a company that counterfeits lock designs and steals entire designs of knives. Keep telling yourself you're not if that makes you feel better.

The best thing you could do is learn something here. These are the facts of what you are doing. You can admit your wrongs and carry on or we could keep arguing. It is not necessarily my intent to change your mind but rather to show others who are reading this what is wrong with supporting such companies. Honest decent people willing to learn will understand and let their knife purchasing choices reflect that.

Will do! As you can tell, I have a lot of interest in Chinese cutlery too, and would love you to keep sharing insights. I would love you to keep sharing, and especially talk about the knife makers there: people forging knives, traditional designs, different ways of using any knife design, Dadao/Pudao (swords) etc.

Call it a counterfeit, fake, replica, look alike, or whatever you want (looking at you Zero_Time), it was not an original design and should be noted as such.

Wow, if you hadn't used my handle I wouldn't have known you were talking about me thanks for clearing things up ;)

I don't want the thread closed at all. You assume a lot. I want to show people that supporting such companies is in fact supporting counterfeiting which hurts the knife industry, our hobby, and this community. You'll notice I can do that without calling people names as well.

dingy - I thought you're here to provide insider information of fake knives in China that most folks (if not all) on this forum lack sufficient knowledge of, instead of defending fake knives in China. Am I wrong? So far you have provided some VERY limited information that people here are really interested in hearing. May I politely suggest your time be spent on that part rather than something like the quoted post above?

You're doing great, dingy. Just great! I'll join you to keep you company. I'd sincerely appreciate anything else you'd like to share with us about the Chinese knife industry. As the only insider eyes we have in your part of the world, you've an invaluable resource as far as I'm concerned. I'm interested in every word you have to say.

thanks ,man, as i know , there are 3 cutlery centers here in china :

1. yangjiang in guangdong provience , mainly make kitchen knives and scissors;
2. longquan in zhejiang provience , where make swords , some of them may followed the traditional way of making swords;
3. hebei provience , make kitchen knives .

there is a big factory in hebei provience , was called dingzhou baoguang , they OEMed machetes for companies as i know Ralph Martindale and Company Ltd. and Tramontina Machetes Brazil .

baoguang machete company dose not sell machete in china , what a pity .

Hate to break it to you, but those are knock-offs. It's very common to either outright counterfeit those brands (complete with logo, stickers, etc) OR to display an image of a known quality manufacturer's product when what a customer would receive is totally different. I've seen, for instance, some Chinese scythe manufacturers display pictures of genuine Arti (Russian) and Gunas (Turkish) blades. I showed those listings to my friend at Arti, who is the VP of research and development, and he was quite dismayed by it.

Really? Having a different take on this situation is "baiting"? Since we feel differently than you we are merely trolls just trying to get a thread shut down?

Please.

Feel free to report any of my posts to the mods, but nowhere have I seen that thinking differently than you is grounds for an infraction.

You're just baiting and trying to get the thread locked!
