First Look - Kershaw Echelon

I like this model a lot. It'll be about $60 on the street, I figure, so I think I will give this one a spin for a beater. If I have anything left over from the Tilt.

Hmm...the blade looks nice. Really a beautiful piece of weapon. Im not really into the funky fragile-looking handle though. Id give it a 7 out of 10.

You'd give it a decisive rating, never having touched, seen, or been in the same room as one?

Yeah, sounds like a reliable review.

I will repeat with this knife the same statement I have used for many Kershaw knives in the past: Wow, that looks really fantastic...too bad it's a liner lock.

I love how the torsion bar is visible through the translucent scale.

that knife is perfect the way it is!!!!!ghost jade is beautiful count me as a definite buyer.carbon fiber would look awesome also .

The only change we've made from the proto is to change the hardware & clip, from black to stainless.

I really like it. In fact, I like a lot of Kershaw stuff that I saw in the SHOT show coverage. I see a lot of Kershaws in my future.

Damn!

That's one of things that's kept me buying Kershaws of late.

I prefer a black clip over stainless anyday. I just don't like anything shiny to attract other's eyes to what I'm carrying in my pocket.

Deal breaker for me.:(

(Absolutely LOVE the knife design though...)

You can always torch / duracoat yours your favorite color.

For those who think the thumb studs may be too large or high, you may wish to consider polishing/grinding them down a bit. I've done this to the studs on several knives until I get just the feel I like, and it's a real possibility with this knife as well.

A Dremel tool with the sanding drum, or perhaps using a Worksharp knife sharpener with the appropriate belt will do the trick.

Of course, mods like the one I'm mentioning will probably void your warranty, but at least for me, I wouldn't hesitate to do it if I really like the knife. Heck, once you have a slew of knives, it's not like you're going to be left without an edge for cutting stuff.

I'm definitely in line for one of these.
