Fishing, and hunting reports (share yours)

Damn, lots of good bucks on that property! Don’t worry, there’s plenty of people like you that had it hard hunting as kids, some of us still do as adults 😂.

These next two weeks should be stellar but damn there’s still lots of leaves on the trees here in WNY.

Greetings all.

Here is a little update from the hunting in central Missouri. Weather has been wonderful this fall. Dry through August, but then mid September we got therians that the food plots needed. The Alfalfa and the Kale and the Turnips went nuts.... We planted about 15 acres this year. The deer love the nutrition and it gives us a great opportunity to glass the fields and see what around.

The "smalls" get to hunt the early youth season. The deer are into the "chase stage" and then thus weekend the serious rut started.

The "smalls" are the young ones. Austin and Abigail are married now, and the next set are hunting. Youth season is for up to 15 years old. Archery season is also running.

When I was this age, getting an 8 point in PA would bring all the neighbors over. We were tickled to shoot a spike buck in the mountains of central PA back then. I only ever saw our group get 1 8 point in many years of hunting. these youngsters are spoiled rotten and don't even know it. They get dropped off and picked up a their stands, and don't know what "dragging" even is. Kaya and I had to drag her deer about 60 yards, and she was wondering how we would do it? hahaha.

Here is Logan's first archery deer. He is 15 years old now, and 6 feet 7" tall. He has a lot of back and joint pain, and still muscles on through.

Here is Logan and Kaya's youth season buck from this past weekend.

I had bad back pains for a while at the same age, not as tall as him (only 6' 2"), but sounds similar. I got a program for building up stomach and back muscles from IIRC my school nurse, and following that then and occasionally later in life as well have saved me from having more than light problems in the 30+ years after that (I really should exercise more though). Very simple exercises, situps and lying prone face down and lifting the head shoulders, plus lying on floor, lower legs 90 degrees up and then lifting the ass.
Then knowing how to lift in a correct way (use the legs!), and avoid getting the back cold will spare you from a lot of back problems.

Nice bucks btw! :)

“Darkness falls across the land

The midnight hour is close at hand

Creatures crawl in search of blood

To terrorize y’all’s neighborhood

And whosoever shall be found

Without the soul for getting down

Must stand and face the hounds of hell

And rot inside a corpse’s shell

The foulest stench is in the air

The funk of forty thousand years

And grizzly ghouls from every tomb

Are closing in to share your doom

And though you fight to stay alive

Your body starts to shiver

For no mere mortal can resist

The evil of the thriller”

We are trying the same thing, plus visited the neuro doctor, and he is getting with a sports therapist

Doggone it, the pictures aren't showing for me. I'd normally just let it go, but hounds of hell and undead grizzlies set the hook.

It's strange Dave, on my phone the posted video was interactive but on my desktop, I have to click on the still images to open in a new tab to see the video. The deer is being stalked by something lurking in the background in that first video captured very well on the wildlife camera.

Thanks! I'll see it I can see it on my phone....

ETA: Opening in a new window worked

One of the guys came across two big bucks locked together and stumbling around the property today. By the time they got back to the spot with a bow the bucks had wandered off onto the neighbor's property. Really hoping they're able to untangle themselves... that'd be a shitty way to go.
