Fishing, and hunting reports (share yours)

Lucky you! Did you draw a trophy or a non-trophy tag? I didn't draw anything in the NM lottery this year.
But I have drawn oryx twice in the past, one trophy and one non-trophy, and I've guided other folks on WSMR for oryx, too.
If you haven't hunted WSMR before, I could give you some suggestions - hit me up if you're interested.

I need to start applying for this. I may message you at some point.

Bob I drew an off range hunt in January. I've been trying for about 20 years to get an Oryx tag so I'm REALLY happy!
I'll be in touch, thanks!

November of 2021 so I figure better late than never. About 2 seconds after I took this picture of the little 8 I killed, a big, old heavy body 14 pointer walked right up to me and the downed buck. Definitely a case of I should've waited 5 minutes

Man, hard to believe we’re only 3-4 mo’s away from another deer season.

Does are dropping and bucks are making velvet! They seem to like my mineral recipe.

I called this fox in while deer hunting one evening, it came to just a couple feet away, you’ll see me pan down to show my boot before it runs away. I love seeing fox while I’m in the woods. Not sure if I’ve posted this before, sorry if I did!

It's quite fascinating how many animals react to any kind of squeaking sounds.

Went to the zoo with a group of college friends (and I somehow got designated to lug our styrofoam cooler of stuff).

As we stopped by the otter pen, it was mid-afternoon and there were none to be seen. They were either asleep, or just sheltering in the shade of the 'bunkers'(?) in the enclosure. We stood watching for a few minutes to ser if any would pop out, but none did, and folks began to get bored of waiting, and started wandering off.

I was tired of carrying this darned styrofoam cooler, so I rested it on the rail with my arm laying on top to make sure it didn't fall. I made a slight move and my skin rubbing on the styrofoam made it squeak. Immediately, an otter popped its head out of one of the bunkers, so I moved my arm again, making another squeak, and several more otters popped their heads out to investigate.

I called to my friends and said, "Hey, check this out! The otters are coming out!". The friends who'd wandered away, as well as other patrons all rushed back to the enclosure as I started rubbing my arm on the cooler like a virtuoso playing a squeaky violin with his armpit (my arm was still laying on top of the cooler) 😂

Had all the otters out of their enclosures, standing on their hind legs and bobbing their heads, wondering what all the squeaking was about.

Jsega51 Jsega51 that is too cool! Not 5 feet away and 1 healthy fox.

I put in for 3 draws and only got antlerless mule deer. Happy I got something, but I still have regular season tags that I can rely on. I'm contemplating on trying for an archery elk hunt up north. I know a guy who can speak their language, but it is archery.... archery elk. Those who know, know.
