^^^ Those are some great fish. Sweet setups too! your gonna be set for a while.

The first one was caught 6 feet from the boat on a cranck bait while they were schooling chasing shad. The 10.5 was caught on a wacky worm. The 12.5 was all of about 5 seconds of fight, the 10.5 was a lot longer fight ad she was in about 15 ft of water and I was using a 12lb fluor leader for the first time so I had to let her tire herself out before bringing her to the boat...now that one was fun, I thought I had hooked a stump at first...seriously...it didn't move AT ALL, then she took off and it was on

I would fall over dead if I landed a bass that big! Pretty sure those are state records here haha. Ours is 10lb 3oz caught in a private stock pond.

Lol...if you noticed my face in the first pic, it was utter shock and amazement. That one was my PB. I could fit both my fist in her mouth side by side, it was almost a little scary seeing a bass that big. Just hope I can break it one day

I guess the warmer weather here in Texas is what gets them bigger...you know what they say about texas...lol, and no it doesn't have to do with steers and.......lol

For the price you are looking to spend on these production rods you could go full custom. Then you would have a rod that is built just for you and your way of fishing, it will be as good if not better component wise and have the exact length and action you want. I really don't understand spending over 200 (Avid cost) for a production rod.

But the key to it is having someone in your area to do it. That is not something I would want to do over the phone and hope for the best. Do customs carry the same kinda warranty as the other production ros companys?
The only place I can think of that is close to me (2.5 hrs away) is kistler rods

Once you figure in a blank that has the sensitivity to even compete with nrx level let alone an x7 you are looking at 300 easy (the k2 blank) then you have to add titanium sic or torzite guides a good reel seat (cause why skimp out now) the right grips the right guide placement and correct orientation to the spine. Perfect wrap job perfect epoxy... plus labor and whatever extra he chooses to charge you are over the price the the x7

And now your at a 1000.00

Yes I understand you might be able to get a custom for 300 or so but I believe to get to the sensitivity of a xx or greater it would cost you at least in the 500-700 range

Plus with a full time job, a 1 and 4 year old, chores, honey do list, life, fishing to be done, it just seems easier to go and buy one already made. I already have enough choices to make, don't want anymore
Not knocking customs, I love any and everything custom, but it depends on if there is already something made for me that will work for me, if there's not, usually I make it myslef
