Flashlights

Fired, very cool, looks like you have the best covered in the knife and flashlight world. Tells us the specs on the torch and battery you are using.

and the Family ....grows:) Received my ALL Black, raised button 250 Rotary today:) No, I did not "need" another flashlight.
I'm a non-repentant American who when He wants to get something makes no attempt to rationalize, justify or explain - so there.
Actually, I wanted a flickering candle easter egg and this was the only way to get one.
I tried to buy just a flickering candle easter egg but.... after being asked to leave several stores shortly after insisting that, "Yes such a thing DOES exist and I want one" - I simply acquiesced and ordered one where I knew I could find one.

Nice light :D

As an aside, I now have the starting line-up for the Rubi-HDS flashlight Basketball Team.

The sickness is strong with this one! That being said good for you! BTW I couldn't resist and bought a VP1 charger, me like lots.

True it is. I will say, just shooting the two(2) here in the office (at the desk) the 250 has a noticeably more intense hot spot so, if that translates to brightness/focus tonight in the woods.... so be it (cool).
Had the light come on in my pocket already (raised switch) hope that was (will be) a rare anomaly, we shall see.
I like the ease of operation of the raised button -vs- the recessed. Never use tail standing all that much.
What else? Oh, the all black makes the light appear a little larger than my silver bezel one.... (note to self, nevermind).
But anyway, I do like me some HDS torches.:)

Congrats on your new light Rubi. In this pic, they look pretty even actually. That could be my crappy work monitor playing tricks though. Is the one of the left the 250?

Yes.
It may have just been my imagination (probably was) I will check them out in the woods tonight.
I expect the flush -vs- raised button and the different color bezel will be the most demonstrative difference(s) that and the fact that my older 200 has a stiffer (to turn) rotary knob.

Congrats Rubi!! I can tell the left one is more intense. But do let us know what you think. I sure love mine :)

Joe, pulled the trigger on the vp1, huh! Awesome! I think I will purchase one in the future.

Congrats!!! And what better reason to buy something?! Truth be told, we're all just kidding ourselves if we use any other justification for most purchases! Good on you for bein' honest with yourself!

Well, If I was able to pick out the slight brightness intensity of the hot spot, your eyes are probably not tricking you. The difference is very slight but it is there if you are looking for it.

Does anyone use AW IMR 16340's in their HDS lights? I was thinking about picking up that Xtar vp1 (or vp2?) charger and some AW IMRs. My SWM will get much brighter with the rechargeables and the non protected/safe chemistry cells seem to be the most preferred for the SWM. I am hoping that they will work just fine in the HDS so I can take advantage of the economies of scale:)

Thanks FO :) McGizmo Haiku XP-G2 with a CR123 Surefire primary. I think it max's out at 200 lumens, which isn't as bright as some others, but the quality of the beam is really nice and more then enough for everyday use.

and because we all like pics

Just got back in. The 250 is definitely brighter and more focused in throw. I like that.
Noticeable.
Both nice lights and different enough to have both.
For those who own or are contemplating either....both great EDC lights.

Thanks for the info, great collection you have there, and the light beams are very interesting, looks like you put a lot of thought behind each acquisition.

So Rubi, which torch gets pocket time, or do you carry both. This time of year my HDS LE 170 gets carried in my coat pocket and the HDS 250 rotary rides in pants left pocket.
