Flashlights

I guess what I am seeking is a light with close to 300 honest OTF lumens, IPX 8, shock proof, overbuilt, but small as possible with a clicky, multiple outputs, strobe, and possibly a rotary for more output flexibility. If it ran 1CR123 or RCr123, even if I had to replace or recharge often, I.'d be all over one of these.

Anyone know a light that fits this description?

I will probably give the suggested EagleTac a look or try. Any other ideas for a small, robust high output device?

I should bump this info too.

I would recommend the TorchLAB Moddoolar Pocket. It has several options when it comes to emitter (XP-E, XP-G), tint, (cool white, neutral, hi-cri), modes (single, l-m-h, or h-m-l), body type (18350, 18500, 18650).

You can also lego a Cryos Cooling Bezel to run a P60 drop-in.

For backup, can't get better than an HDS Clicky.

If you know where I can buy the moddoolar 3 level in stock plz shoot me an e-mail. Have wanted torchlab for awhile but can never find them.

HDS Clicky with rotary dial prepaid and on order since late January.

I'm a fan of the HDS Clicky as well.

My HDS to come is the following:

EDC Rotary 200 lumens flashlight*
Item #: EDC-R1B-200
Description: EDC Rotary flashlight, 200 lumens, black bezel, black body, raised button, single 123 battery

So I guess where I stated above it is a "clicky" perhaps in HDS speak it is a "rotary". It has a clicky button, and rotary control.

Perhaps I mistakenly believed HDS offered lights with and without tail buttons. I know you can get a low profile flush button or a raised button. But are there HDS lights with no rear button? When I hear rotary I think no clicky but that type of light might just be a twisty. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Before they were known as HDS (HDS Systems), Henry's lights were called Ra Lights. Like HDS lights, the Ra's came in a variety of flavors..one being the Ra Twisty. It's entire interface was accessed by twisting the head (or body), no tail switch was available. These can only be purchased on the aftermarket. I hope to find one myself one of these days. :)

Thank you for this informative reply

It seems every flashlight "seeking" thread winds up in a similar place. The HDS and Moddoolar lights always come into the conversation. Recommendations on those started early in this thread and are still going strong. So guess what's on my shopping list now.;)

Let's bring this back to page one.

So, what's your current pocket-friendly EDC illumination choice?

I too await the arrival of what I deem to be one of only a few worthy pocket EDC lights to occupy my "Hinderer XM pocket" (Front Right) - HDS Systems.
Made in the U.S.A. is what went/goes with me when return isn't always guaranteed.

You unearthed my motive. It's two-fold, to see what everyone else is carrying and to play show (w/ possible tell) of my new HDS lights.

How could that be....;) Can't wait to see em'. Like I said, in a pocket with an XM..... not a lot is worthy.

I think the sandy clicky got photo posted, but cannot rember for certain.

But since the black rotary just arrived today, I know it's not been shown yet.

S10!!

I cant stop carrying this little guy. 320 lumens, magnetic tailcap, and still small enough to clip on my hat brim. I love the S10, thinking of picking it up in bead blastec or polished too.

I've got an S10. Have it in a pocket of one of my jackets. The magnetic base has come in handy a time or two.
