Flashlights

Bowman you nailed it! I forgot all about that! I too drool all over my HDS every day! Literally....its always good to chew on some Tail ;)

I too go hands free w/ my HDS lights frequently in a similar manner. Or use the lanyard to hold the light behind my fingers to free up hands for gripping...sometimes light's still on, sometimes (if time allows) it's off.

That's funny as Hell! I think it must be something in the way they vulcanize inner tubes! They make ya drool terrible! LOL

Looks great Magnum!! Love the trans green frag!!

I only have the HDS Rotary 250. The advantage is the rotary control, you can dial in the amount of light you need for the situation. Love it! Helps you keep night vision better. The chip manages the power so that you have the same light throughout the life of the battery, instead of getting dimmer as the power depletes. You will miss the clip if that's you preferred carry option.

Almost slid to page 2.

I'm about to spend some time in dark environment(s)...going to put the HDS Hi-CRI to task. I'm thinking it'll be more gentle on the eyes than its brothers.

I just ordered 2 sets of drilled optics for my 2 macs lights, and 6 tritium tubes to go in them...., will post pics when they come in....

In my infinite ignorance I describe the Hcri as an " incandescent LED" while I know that is not technically correct it does however accurately describe the situation IMO

Don't know why but my perception of brightness, tells me that my Hcri is almost as bright as my 250. And the color of anything that Hcri light hits is as close to daylight rendering that I've ever seen. Wish I could get a Hcri in rotary, sadly when I asked Henry about this months ago he said that the Hcri LEDs are no longer available..... Which is why I have a 170 on order....but between the Hcri and my 250 the Hcri is my favorite. Weirdly enough the 250 is what is usually in my pocket clawing at my EDC knife scales :) have fun in the night N2K, stay away from Zombies! No biting.

I like it as well and find the 120 to be more than adequate. I select no other when attempting any kind of up close detail work. The 120 and it's accurate rendering and pleasing light makes those tasks that much more doable.

@wowcoop...no zombies aside from the sheeple.

@Rubi...HiCRI HDS is the easy-on-the-eyes choice for up-close work in low-to-no light conditions. In another scenario...it's also not alarming to onlookers as I have two of the outputs programmed well below the basic glow of a smartphone's screen.

Was kickin' it old school last night with the old cmmg battery vampire watchin' "Humanoids of The Deep."

Love the new crusader clip Bowman!!!

Me too K! I've about 3 more parts to get & it'll be done. On a related note, a buddy of mine calls every knife I show him a "hobo stabber" of sorts. Like a purple knife is a grape hobo stabber, a pink handled knife is a breast cancer awareness hobo stabber, this one's a vampire hobo stabber. LOL

Disclaimer: No hobos have ever been harmed by any of my knives.

Your friend sounds a little immature, hobos have quite a history and one made his way to the Supreme Court, William Douglas. Many Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korea, Viet Nam, and most likely our current vets have found this life of traveling and comradely particularly agreeable to them after seeing the horrors of war. A little empathy on his part would be in order. Too bad he sees the value of a knife in its stabbing potential.

Your job as a friend is to call him out and re educate him on the most valuable tool ever created, good luck !
