Lunch today.
Chicken and mixed veggies in spicy tomato-sauce.
Cooked on a wood-stove
Not in the woods but on a riverbank because of the lack of rain here fpr weeks now.
Don't want to be that guy that burns down half the country.
So, my quiet spot with a nice view:
Ingredients and other stuff you need:
Chicken thigh filet chopped into smal parts (about 100g), red kidney beans (can 400g), tomato paste (can, 70g), olive oil, soy sauce, 1 small green pepper, 1 chily pepper, 2 slices of fresh ginger root, 1 small yellow onion, garlic, about 3 pieces. Dry wood, wood stove, stainless cooking-pan, some plates/bowl to put you chopped veggies on, fun knife (Esee 5), fun fire staring method (flint and steel with charcloth), a spork and some dry wood...
First filled my stove with woods and curls, ready to light it up. Then chopped all veggies into small chunks, kept the onion seperated from the rest to fry them first with the chicken.
Time to light the stove
We have flames, yay!
Fry the chicken first
Then onions, next the tomato-paste. make sure to heat that properly to get rid of the 'metallic' taste.
Add the chopped veggies and about a spoon of soy sauce, let that fry/cook a bit. Then ad the kidney bean, stir a lot and once they're warm it's time to eat
But first put the kettle on to make some fresh ginger-root tea to go with this meal, it's too hot to eat immediately anyway
This is it all together, tasty and fun to make on a trip.
