for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

Back home in west central Illinois the temps are currently in the 30’s which is pretty chilly for this time of year. Heard we even got a little snow. I’m visiting my son in Brunswick Georgia.I think it was about 80 here yesterday suppose to be 68 today. Only one Buck with me for the trip.3502B82C-95FE-4450-AF8A-0EA774956846.jpeg

It has gotten much cooler here in SW Kansas. This coming weeks forecast is showing into the lower teens for the lows and mid 30s for the highs. Monday tomorrow is supposed to snow. I’m not looking forward to it being that cold yet, I have a dr appointment Tuesday and echo cardio gram Thursday then possibly a trip to Wichita the following Monday the 21st for a procedure to implant a pacemaker if my heart EF is still below 35% and in a-fib It’s been 15-20% since August 4th. Normal is 55-60%.

Its been a little over three months now on meds to dissolve a blood clot and wearing a defibrillator/ monitor vest to see if my heart efficiency and rhythm gets better. If not then I’ll have to have a pacemaker. Life has its challenges and difficulty but it’s still good when I don’t think about all the negative stuff and focus on the good. I have four wonderful kids and ten grandkids that love and care for me and a host of friends and that means everything to me. Situations like this make me appreciate the important matters and people in my life. And I still enjoy carrying a good Buck knife. 😆

Up here in the opposite corner of Kansas it's getting cold now. 20 degrees this morning. 🥶 And to think I just bought stuff for an oil change!

27 degrees, as I write. I'm putting on my long handles. I got the 503 out today to touch up my custom scales. Just a little more sanding and it will be perfect...words like that have led me to ruin in the past. Maybe I should just drop it in my pocket.

Take care Les!

Good luck hunters.

It's cold out. It snowed earlier.
So I'm sitting inside..... Doing nothing.😁
.... I work outside everyday.
I like my little Vantage.

Holy cow the length of that remote....it is the outlaw.....with that in your hand no one else in the house is gonna dare ask ya to change the channel.....😁

Probably my most used Buck over the years it was my first BCCI Club knife. I'm going to brave the low 60's take the trash and pick up some milk. This 111 has performed desk duty for probably 6 years in total since 2007. It is absolutely the 'pointest' Buck I've ever had. It's stuck me at least a dozen times!20221113_160528.jpg

Hope the testing comes out in the positive zone. If not where it needs to be, thoughts and prayers for successful surgery next week.

It has been a long time since I heard the term "long handles". Hope they served their intended purpose

Hello Everyone,
My only 111. Pretty scarce all brass version. One of only a handful. I'm too far from my notes, but seems only 5 or 6 were made.

It could benefit from a little flitz and elbow grease.

JFYI... Years ago, member @MT_Pokt developed a lanyard loop for the 110.

Thankyou tommycopper1 and pjsr. The seller called it 'Steampunk' by Wilde Bill Cody. This is the only information I have.

Hi Lesknife, I went through what you are going through 20 years ago. I had the defibrillator go off one time a few years back. I was in a cemetery at the time. I take 20 meds a day now and I don't miss any days. I have had 3 replacements already of the defibrillator/pacemaker. Your life changes because of all the Dr. appts. It does make you remember that your life is so precious.
Take Care of Yourself Lesknife!! I just turned 66. Discovered when I was 46 and on disability for all of my ailments. Please Take Care! Tommycopper1
