Well some very good news ! …After 3 1/2 months and a lot of heart meds I was on the way to Wichita last Friday for a pacemaker then about 1/4 of the way there my daughter who works with my cardiologist called and said they got my echo cardio gram results and my heart was back up to 50% which is in the normal range but the low side, normal is 50-65%, and that I don’t need a pacemaker or any surgery ! That was not expected but I’m so thankful! We turned around and came back home. And they released me to go back to work today.

Today it was 22° for the low and 55° for the high. I’m back at work with my regular setup of a large Vantage pro 20cv and a 303 cadet. It’s good to get back in the action.
Last week we had a cold front that dropped our temps down to 10° low and 30° for the high. We didn’t get above freezing for almost 2 days. That’s cooler than normal for this time of the year and set a few records in the area. This week is supposed to be more normal temps around 26-32 for lows and 50-60 for highs and dry. Should make for a nice time with family here for thanksgiving.

I have followed this thread for a long time now and still wonder how so many of y'all can live work and play up north where it gets brutally cold. Even dangerously cold weeks at a time. It must really be special Spring Summer and Fall to make it worth enduring the winter..
I found this a few days ago and it was a complete surprise lol! I guess I bought it for a blade swap to a 112 4 or 5 years ago. I used to own the 112 version but somehow over the years it disappeared. I still have not figured out how the snap on the back of the shieth works. I might just punch out the blade and put it in a Take-Apart 112.20221120_214030.jpg20221120_220212.jpg

something to warm y'all up if ya are already covered in snow....

This morning at 6am it was -7° with a 30 mph wind blowing snow. I think the wind chill was around -42°. When the front hit around 3 am there were gusts of 47 mph. It was plenty cold and we had freeze ups all day long. The gas wells are freezing off out in the field and that makes it worse trying to keep the plant running. We made it to a high of 8°. Tomorrow is supposed to be just as cold in the am but might get to 20° in the afternoon. Then get warmer by Christmas day.

55 degrees and raining in RI with 50mph gusts today. Followed by a high of 22 and a low of 14 tomorrow. Gotta love New England. looks like I'm getting wet at work today.

It’s -7 this morning in west central Illinois. Windchill is -32. Looks like only a coupe of inches of snow.

Currently sitting in my recliner drinking coffee. No knife on me yet but when I let the dogs out later and start the car I’ll probably slip this in my pocket again.A1CFD046-7B10-4714-925C-D3EA498C228A.jpeg

An interesting thing about this cold front has been the speed of the temperature drop. I noticed yesterday that Dillon, Montana went from 27°F at 4:22 AM to 1°F at 4:25 AM. A lot of weather stations in Wyoming set records for the speed and magnitude of temperature change. Our temp dropped 70°F in a little less than 18 hours.

I quit checking last night/this morning after we hit -10F and -36F windchill here in my part of Indiana. It's a little warmer today (didn't make it to zero), but the wind was stronger.

The temps made it officially the start of Long Pants Season. As soon as it pokes back over 0F, back to shorts!

This screenshot of our weather back home was taken earlier in the week. Thankfully we were enjoying the sun in southern California at the time. I carried and used a dandy little 303 for the entire trip.

For my American friends, the -47°C windchill converts to -52.6°F.
