for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

bertl...96 MPH gusts IS hurricane force winds. Steady 62 is strong tropical storm force winds. Yep a little breezy.
Sounds awful bucksway! Where are ya? Seems this crap weather has affected all. Got a ways to go before spring unfortunately. Good to stay in and enjoy those Bucks.

I live in Central Florida 90 miles directly west of Daytona Beach on the west side of Ocala. It just seems incredible to me that our friends up north can take the severe cold weather for weeks and months at a time! Dangerous cold even deadly.
I think the Snow Birds who come down here for the winter have a great idea! But each year more and more just stay here and never go back up north..

It’s in the 40s here in coastal Mass. We got pummeled last Friday with that coastal storm and Christmas weekend was frigid (here and in Vermont). I’ll take the mild weather any day of the week. For nine months a year, I miss living in Tampa 🤣

Oh, and I’m toting my 110 and 110LT today.

gets colder tonight into the low 50s by morning
I don't think it's been above 50 degrees for a week or so here, mostly 30s and 40s for highs, 20s for lows. Tomorrow the high is suppose to be 50, the snow on Wednesday.
Still this one...

West edge of the Texas Hill country here. We got hit with the really cold stuff as did near everyone.
Strange thing happened to Son in law. Back in season he took a nice buck (deer) and was working up the head for what he calls or is called a European skull mount.
Pulled a Buck 471 out of his truck and within a short time managed to snap around half an inch off the tip.
We were shocked as he had used this same knife on several similar mounts. Wasnt working it any harder than previous. Only difference is the temp hit down near 5 degree F and that knife was in the bed of his truck.
Just an interesting tidbit...
Sent it to Buck to see what they say. No biggie if it doesn't come back. I doubt that one is still in production.
As far as knifes we use or were using,,, We favor the 110 for gutting and I favor a Mesa for the skinning and quartering..
Sorry no pics, but yall seen em...

both get me.

think J Jeff of the North Jeff's been in usa.....which is good. maybe he's missed the frostbite in minutes winter.....
Yep, we were in the LA/Palm Springs area around Christmas. The coldest it got to was 38° at night and we had to fire up the furnace in the cousin's motorhome. I carried the 303 everywhere again as I don't have any issues bringing it back and forth across the border.

It's fairly mild back home now... around 19°F during the day and -13° at night. I keep the 722 in the pocket most days.

It was 9 F this morning. There's just enough snow on the driveway for me to consider getting out the shovel.

Whenever I slip this 112 into my back pocket, I think that someone was making good decisions. This is easily one of my nicest knives. It's still pretty new for me, and I'm looking forward to a gardening season with it this year.

-44° with the windchill this morning. School buses for the rural students aren't running but schools are open ( for the unfortunate city kids like me that used to walk a mile to school during days such as these). Classrooms were definitely very quiet when half the kids were absent.
