for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

Even birds migrate south in the winter..I do believe people should too if they can. All I can say is the Spring Summer and Fall must really be nice way up north to stand the actual brutal cold and winter weather. Especially for weeks and months at a time..
I spend a fair amount of time down south and would take cold and snow every day of the week over the hot and humid summer days down there…. Plus it’s pretty hard to ice fish with no ice 😁

I've been in 22 below zero and don't know what the wind chill was that night but it hurt to breathe. Once deer hunting in West Virginia it was about 15 degrees but in the late afternoon a strong arctic front moved in and the temperature dropped 25 degrees in 5 minutes and the wind picked up fast to almost 50 MPH . That was a little scary. The wind cut like a knife and I don't know if it was hail or hard balls of frozen snow but it felt like buckshot on my face lol! Never seen a deer either.

It can definitely be scary if you are not prepared for temps that low. In college my roommates and I would hunt coyotes and sell the hides for beer money. We were out in some bitterly cold temperatures but were prepared for it. Man I miss those days. Nothing like having the entire woods to yourself.

I'll take wet and super hot over frostbite in minutes. I'll take sitting in the shade 98f and high humidity over frostbite any day. course I'm from the swamps and used to it.

It definitely has a lot to do with what you’re used to. I go with the saying “ I can always put more layers on but I can only take so many off.”
the old timers used to say no one came down here til ac was invented and easy to get. used to say it was unliveable to most.

I'm always a bit cold. I'm always thinking about moving further south....one of these day im heading closer to the equator to stay warmer year round....

Too many things that want to kill/ eat you by the equator for my taste.

It's a good thing people like different things. I think our winters help keep people away. Our population density has increased to almost 6 people per square mile, compared with about 3 people per square mile 60 years ago—jb, your density in Florida is a little over 350 people per square mile. Depending on the road, I can still drive 100 miles and see only 2 or 3 cars the whole time. I've been to 48 of the 50 states, and Florida is one of the two I've never visited.

It was a balmy +7F here when I clocked-in for work a little after 06:30 this morning. By afternoon, it soared to a blistering 29F before starting to drop to more reasonable numbers. It got a little sweaty there for a while.
