It's -5 degF here just before 15:00, but the wind subsided a bit. Windchill in the -20s.

Buddy just dropped by as I was out having a smoke, he had just been to the local breakfast place and was still laughing. Apparently he overheard part of a conversation going on between a waitress and some loud lady, he couldn't hear the what the waitress was saying, just the loud lady and apparently everybody heard her:

Lady: "Well i'm just saying, I was told my car would be fine here, nobody said anything about a 4-wheel drive"
Waitress: (words)
Lady: "What do you mean 'winter' tires?"
Waitress: (words)
Lady: "Well yes I am, San Diego actually, why does everyone keep asking me that?"

Thanks! I've been trying to teach myself to understand both F and C tenperatures. I set the weather app on my phone to F, so hopefully I'll be able to work with both soon.

High temperature predicted to be a downright tropical 15f/-9c tomorrow, way up from today's high of -13f/-25c.

I truly feel sorry for indoor pets who HAVE to go outside for any reason..They don't usually get to put on boots, heavy coats, hats and gloves..And get the crap froze out of them.

My cat doesn't have to go outside but always wants to until it got cold as hell last week, yesterday the sun finally came out so she figured it must be okay again, lol, she walked out there for maybe 10 seconds and then it was a total NOPE NOPE NOPE moment and I swear she disapparated in this orange blur and re-appeared a split second later in front of the heater in the living room.

It was about -10F this morning when I was out shoveling. I think my cat spends days like this sitting on the register behind the couch. As long as there's no sun to lay in, we don't see her much.

We got a couple of inches last night. Feel bad for people pumping their basement because the Temps are all over the place. It was in the 20s and high 50s last week... the water isn't going anywhere. Keeps melting and then snows or rains again...View attachment 2459203

I think this guy has been having a warm, but illegal stay at one of the fraternity houses I do electrical work for... had running water in that white thing, and a bowl of food, so i didnt bother alerting the authorities... lol. Gave him some scritches and left him be.

1 degree F now up from a high of -6 F yesterday. Suppose to get to 27 degrees F for the high today. Low 40s by the end of the week!
