Forum Name?

Long time ago I was with a friend while trying to think of a name to sign up for online gaming. Something that had to do with me personally and something I hadn't seen before. My friend came up with "dobermaniac" (combo of "doberman" & "maniac"). I liked it so I used it.

It's the motto on my family coat of arms, which was kept when our family first came to America. It is Latin and means to sustain or endure. My ancestors came to America from England in the 1630's to settle in Watertown, Massachusetts, and our family was involved in quite a few historical events, most notably including but not limited to the French and Indian war( in which one of my ancestors died from a tomahawk to the face, OUCH), and the American revolution ( We were on the side of the revolutionaries, and one of them was a tent master for General Washington). Rumor even has it that our family was at one time in possession of a few family heirlooms that belonged to Paul Revere, but apparently had sold them to close family friends when times got tough and money became tight, needless to say I would like to track those heirlooms down someday. My family has a long, rich, and storied history in America, and is something I am very proud of. I use our motto in many things as a way of holding onto and honoring our heritage.

Was into rock-climbing about the time I joined up. And at the time was a fan of spyderco knives. Unfortunately, over the years, I've totally lost the fandom, and don't climb much anymore. But at this point, why change?0

I love fly fishing; I catch fish on a "tentacle" (flyline); and I always have a sting (my EDC).

My tag line, ego sum Chrysaora means I am the jellyfish in Latin and my name is Chris.

Sincerely,
Ego sum Chrysaora

Xtian is often used as slang for Christian, which is both my name/belief. Aus being where i am from- Australia.

RAN = Royal Australian Navy
CD = Clearance Diver

My old job, and my first choice was taken.

Hi my name is Mike......Busto is a shortened version of my last name given by a short fused football coach..."Busto we need a touchdown"...well as time moved along the name stuck. The name has followed my travels through my military service and career with a government agency there are people I've known for years that don't known my first name including managers and directors...Even my wife called me Busto......Pronounced: Booze-Toe

Several years back, after buying my first Hummer (the 2-door one in my signature), I had few different people in parking lots snarkily ask me "if I'm getting ready for the zombie apocalypse" by driving a Hummer. At that point I decided that I wanted to incorporate zombies into my license plate, and I settled on zombie hunter. Zombie hunter is far too many letters to fit on my license plate, however, so I abbreviated it to "zmbhntr". I occasionally get someone ask me what I hunt (because they can only make out that part of the license plate), so when I answer zombies the looks I get are pretty priceless.

Yeah but what's this ASCII code all about?:

̿' ̿'\̵͇̿̿\з=(•̪●)=ε/̵͇̿̿/'̿''̿ ̿

I've been curious about that for a while. :)

Mine is from a location on a map from the game oblivion. Lol. All of my other ones were used so this has been mine for years now.

Mine is a combination of first and last name:

Mine was given to me on the Flagship fishing pier in Galveston. My name's Jimmy but when one of my surf rods had a run everybody would yell Jimmay!

With a platinum BF membership you get to write your own title under your name. To be different, I decided I would put some ascii art instead of a saying, so I went with what it supposed to be a person holding two guns. It's intended to be like a scene from one of my favorite movies "Boondock Saints", but there is only so much you can do with ascii art.

What if it was just one guy with 6 guns?

Awesome, that movie's a classic.

Il Duce: "Never shall innocent blood be shed, yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river. The Three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeful striking hammer of God."

The Niddhogg is a horned dragon in Nordic mythology which gnaws at the roots of the tree of the universe, Yggdrasil. I'm just a nerd and thought it was neat- has been my handle on most every forum since 2004 or so.

Nothing too interesting for mine. I had been lurking, reading and learning for some time when I had a specific question about an o2w offering I was debating ordering that nobody had asked yet, so I signed up to ask it. Not long before I'd been hanging out with friends watching a (bad) movie that involved a German witch hunter or hexenjager. Apparently I was leaning towards the German portion of my mishmash of ancestry that particular day, because that's what bubbled to the top of my head when I had to pick a name.
