So that's 14 forum posts outside of the exchange from a total of 260.... That in itself isn't a crime, but is surely a warning sign to proceed with caution imo.
Should have banned this guy weeks ago when it was discovered that he had two accounts and had ruined the reputation of his first account. His old account was banned but not his new one.

I couldn't figure out then why he was allowed to continue doing business here...

See this thread from just last month: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1182725-What-s-with-all-the-Flakes-lately/page3?highlight=fourboysplus

In the other thread, Esav said this:
Scammer. Duplicate accounts. * splash * him. Too many flakes and thieves. Find one, feed him to the fish. They have no mercy on the honest members here.

Yet he is still here one month later?

My post count has NOTHING to do with this knife transaction!!!

Here is my profile from USN.

It does tell us how little you've been active here, and where you've "contributed" over the last two years...

Also, it's interesting that you've only left positive feedback for one of your 11 buyers that make up your 100% positive rating here.

If that was directed at me, I stated:

"So that's 14 forum posts outside of the exchange from a total of 260.... That in itself isn't a crime, but is surely a warning sign to proceed with caution imo."

I stand by my statement. No need for me to go any further down that line.
Your profile at USN or elsewhere has less bearing on the current situation than your postcount here.

Good point bonky.

You know what's really weird though; a Canadian guy posting in the For Sale: Automatic Knives (Individual):2. part of the forums...

There are plenty of ways to screw up a knife that runs on washers and a bushing. See how many people manage to screw up sebenza assembly.

I go by the deal isn't done until both parties are satisfied, BUT modifying the item by taking it apart, no matter what the intent, is a defacto acceptance of it as yours.

If you're not satisfied with a knife, the deal isn't done. It's not your knife, send it back.

If you take it apart, it's now your knife. You wouldn't take apart somebody else's knife, would you? That means It's now your knife and your problem. Chalk it up to lessons learned.

I for one would not take an item back after the buyer had tinkered with it, especially one with custom screw heads.

Thank you!!!!!!

What a mess from both ends. To the buyer you shouldn't take apart a knife that you're not satisfied with and/or you think has a problem.

Fourboysplus

Is it true that you have or had another account?

The seller is always responsible for the item until it arrives, either via sale or trade both parties need to get what they paid/traded for....the MODS are 100% right. The same insurance is for the protection of the seller not the buyer. People need to learn this.

I thought having duplicate accounts was reasons to be banned from this website. Maybe he made a new account after the first one ?

Fourboysplus wanted to do a trade with me for another shirogorov he had. I am not taking sides but I do have his email saying that he had two of the same knife and he had sold one for much more than $700. Now I see he was not being honest about the price and also I am starting to think maybe he posted pics of one of the two identical shirogorovs he had. He clearly told me that and if the OP or MODS need copy of the email I am more than happy to provide them so this can be cleared out.

Next time OP if you get a messed up knife IMMEDIATELY email or contact the seller/trader to let them know...sometimes it is not their fault but shipping.

Straight up, yes. Years ago I used a different account, made some poor decisions and stopped using BF. A few years later wanting to get back into the knife community and wanting a clean slate I started my "fourboysplus" profile and have since had 100% feedback.

I agree it shouldn't of been taken apart.

Most if not all knife companies will not take returns or repair a knife that had been dis-assembled.

I do still think the seller is very devious in that he has had a previous banned account, stated that he is not held liable after a knife has shipped( this makes me think he knew

there was an issue) and will not negotiate a amicable ending to this mess.

Mods shouldn't this thread be opened to simply the buyer and seller?

That is one of the best things about GBU, folks can express their opinions, post links to bolster those opinions, and the community can read it all so that they can make up their own minds about future dealings. Truly one of the best parts of this forum as it relates to buying/selling. When/if it gets out of hand, the mods are not shy about closing the thread. They'll do so when appropriate and they do a great job of making that decision.

And...you had a chance to try to resolve things with the OP privately. You chose not to do that. Now it is a publicly posted concern. Such is life. If you're feeling a little heat here, and it makes you uncomfortable, perhaps that should tell you something.

JMO.

Every knife I've ever had shipped from the US to Canada had the seller stating shipping/boarder issues are not their problem, literally EVERYONE.

There is no real "amicable" ending unless I'm missing something?? He wants a refund and I am not willing to do so. I suggested he send it to a knife maker or pimper and have them sort out whatever issues he has caused. Don't mean to sound brash or harsh but I simply don't see how I can make this amicable.

I am not worried about "the heat" I am present, posting and defending myself and position. Tell me what you'd do in this situation, consider that you know 100% you sent the knife in flawless condition, what would you do now?? Please enlighten me, and I don't mean that in an ignorant way.

The part in bold is interesting, to say the least.
